Playback is twice as fast with sequence's proxy (DNxHD 36) enabled and no GPU

Just sharing if anyone has this bug:

I have a 25 fps sequence with one 1080p 50fps MTS file for which I've created a DNxHD 36 proxy file in a PP 2017.1.2 project.

It works fine on a desktop with a GPU, but on a laptop with no GPU, when the proxy is enables, the video plays back twice as fast whereas the audio plays fine.

At exactly the middle of the sequence the video freezes on the last frame of the original clip and the audio continues till the end.

So I rechecked the desktop project and indeed, switching to software only mode caused the same issue. Returning to GPU acceleration and the issue is gone.
