Sorry I took a while to come back. I installed Ver14.5 to finish my proect and just had time to update to Ver 14.6 again.

Problem is now gone, guess Adobe fixed it with the latest update ; )

Thanks everyone for the suggestions !

This error and others persist in 14.6 and 14.7. Both unuseable, suggest troll back to 14.4

I was also unable to delete a sequence from the project panel. I discovered  the bug in an old project I opened for the first time in a long time. But it is not about the specific project.

I just created a new project, added a new empty sequence and right-click/Clear causes Premiere Pro to crash.

I took the advice to revert to 14.5.  Tested on a new project and the old project. It was able to delete a sequence without crashing (ooooh!)

Re-installed 14.7. Tested. Now it is able to delete a sequence without crashing.

I do not know why. I did not reset preferences, did not change media cache locations, nor clear media cache files.

All my preferences came back the way I had left them in 14.7.

So, it seems that a reversion to an earlier version did something that a simple update from 14.6 to 14.7 did not -- and that resolved the problem for the moment.

I will tell you one other thing, in case this intersects with anyone else's use case:

Premiere and Lightroom Classic seem to have some weird intereference with each other's media cache location preferences.

Just starting Lightroom Classic resets my Premiere Pro media cache files to ~/Libray/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Video.

Yes. Lightroom changes the Premiere Pro preferences.  What?  This has been going on for a long time apparently.

I just mention it here because clearing media caches is so often cited as a fix for various crashes. I can't help but think that this confusion abou the cache location could be at the root of a lot of people's problems.

Due to an increasing lack of trust of Premiere Pro's stability, I have been enjoying using DaVinci Resolve. But I have a huge legacy of projects in Premiere I have to maintain.

End of soapboxing.

Same thing happened to me too.  I reset my Media Cache location to NOT be the Lightroom Classic folder and everythying was running pretty well.  I used Lightroom Classic this morning and now the media cache locaiton preference in Premiere has been changed back to user/library/caches/lightroom/video.

And now I'm having the crash when deleting a file in the bin issue.

Mac Mojave.
