Premiere Pro 2021 - Video Effects - Cannot Drag Denoise effect to clip

Just as the title states, I am trying to apply an effect to denoise a video clip.  When I try to drag and drop it, I just get the "nope" symbol (circle with diagonal line across) and cannot apply the video clip.  This is a fresh installation of Premiere Pro 2021.  I've restarted, and nothing has changed.  I assume I'm missing something that is not listed anywhere obvious.  Please help, I'm about to go back to DaVinci.

The denoise effect is for audio, not video.

Yes, as Peru Bob said, it's an audio effect and needs to be dragged/dropped on to the audio track of the particular video clip.  I've no idea why a couple of other replies imply there's no DeNoise in PP.  It's been there for a few versions now.  See my attached screen capture of the denoise feature under Audio Effects.

There is nothing stock in Premiere to denoise video footage (for whatever reason... it's one of the most common things to need to do). You can search up on Youtube for some tutorials on how other people have done it, but there is also a demoise plugin from Red Giant https://www.maxon.net/en/red-giant-complete/magic-bullet-suite/denoiser

you might check out the Neat video plug-in

https://www.neatvideo.com/

Not cheap but it can do a great job depending on the original footage.

There is a free trial if I remember correctly.  I didn't find it easy to use in premiere, but found it much better in After Effects.

Takes some digging to understand how to make it work but can be a life saver.

Hey everyone!

Thanks for the replies.  I realized about 10 minutes after the post (and I couldn't figure out how to delete the post) that it was a denoise for audio.

The issue is that there aren't any built in tools for actual noise reduction that aren't tied to VR/360 camera stuff (VR De-Noise), and that ends up putting PP at a loss in my book. The VR De-Noise was a pretty good alternative, but it smoothed out the clip too much, and the only other options are paid plug-ins.

I ended up switching back to DaVinci Resolve 17 pro and using the temporal NR, worked like a charm.
