I recently updated my graphics card drivers on Windows 10.
I have a Quadro M4000 card.
After doing the latest update, I found that Premiere Pro would no longer load.
It puts up the progress splash screen, which then just closes after loading some of its files.
There are two relevant Windows error log messages.

1. Open the file again. This situation might be a temporary problem that corrects itself when the program runs again.
2. If the file still cannot be accessed and
- It is on the network, your network administrator should verify that there is not a problem with the network and that the server can be contacted.
- It is on a removable disk, for example, a floppy disk or CD-ROM, verify that the disk is fully inserted into the computer.
3. Check and repair the file system by running CHKDSK. To run CHKDSK, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the command prompt, type CHKDSK /F, and then press ENTER.
4. If the problem persists, restore the file from a backup copy.
5. Determine whether other files on the same disk can be opened. If not, the disk might be damaged. If it is a hard disk, contact your administrator or computer hardware vendor for further assistance.

As can be seen, the second message seems to be saying that Premiere Pro cannot access a file, although rather unhelpfully the message doesn't specify which file!
After a long tedious process of trial and error, I have determined that of the driver versions available for the M4000 on Nvidia's website, the last one which works is version 533.62.
The next version offered, 572.16, does not work, and nor do any of the subsequent versions.
Anyone any idea why this would be happening? I do update the graphics driver regularly, and this has never happened before.

My CS6 works with the latest GTX driver.
Make sure the correct name is listed in the cuda supported cards text file.
Might need to roll back a driver version.

I don't have that specific card, so all I can say is that if you found a driver that works with CS6 you are going to have to use that driver
CS6 is from 2012 and a LOT has changed since then... including, it seems, how the video driver works

John has the practical answer.
I've had computers in the business since a 386 with a FULL K!!! of RAM, and the 40 meg hard-drive, which others said was absurd because no one will ever need that much space.
NONE of the apps we had and used back then even exist now. dBase? Nope. WordPerfect? Naw. And on and on. Apps change up to a point, then typically went buh-bye.
I've got on an older "backup" computer Premiere going back to 2014. I started with CS6, but the changes in the CC version were enough better I dumped CS6, though I'm sure I've got a disk set of it in a drawer still. Along with other old apps we laugh about now.
If you are still able to work in it, wow! So many formats and codecs have come and gone or otherwise changed, so it must be an intriguing thing to use. Best wishes!

Make sure the correct name is listed in the cuda supported cards text file.
Might need to roll back a driver version.

Were you running in windows compatibility mode? I haven't tried installing CS6 since I moved to Win11, but I had to run compatibility for Win10.
I do not know if that has any effect on driver issues; I suspect not.

Mine does not run in compatible mode on W11.
Might need to do a clean install of the driver.

Thanks everyone for the responses.
I'm not going to go into why I'm using CS6, I'm well aware that it is out of date and now unsupported, but that is not the issue. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with Premiere Pro, the problem is in the latest Nvidia graphics drivers, where something has presumably changed making them incompatible with the CS6 version.
I was only trying to find out if anyone else has had the same issue, and whether there is any fix or workaround for it.
I have never seen those error messages before about Premiere Pro not being able to access a file. Perhaps this is an Nvidia file which isn't included with the current graphics driver packages?
Obviously I can carry on using the last graphics driver version which works, I'm just puzzled by this and would like to fix it if I can.
