Premiere Pro update rendering time

Just updated my premiere pro to the newest version (24.4.1) and yes the new colours on the timeline are EXTREMELY confusing, but what on earth is up with the rendering time???
I'm using low quality proxies in my project, and the rendering time, for a two minute b-roll sequence, has gone from a couple of minutes to well over an hour....

@adobe What is all this about???

Have you tried rendering the same sequence in previous version? Is it the new version that's the problem?

Yes, just reinstalled the previous version via Creative Cloud and the rendering was back to under a minute 🙂

Won't be updating Premiere Pro any time soon.

Playback/scrubbing of the timeline is also MUCH faster and smoother on the previous version.
