Premiere Pro Voiceover Immediately "finishing" and not recording

When I was trying to record voiceovers for a project I was working on, I would click the Microphone on the audio track and it would immediately "finish" without "recording" and it wouldn't record anything. It's wierd because It worked the first few times and then stopped. I have already checked up on other forum posts however I was not able find a resolution. Any help would be appreciated 🙂
