premiere shows videos only purple/scrambled

Besides John's request for more information typically this kind of thing is a problem with the graphics card driver, needing either to manually update to the latest driver, and occasionally rolling back.

Have you tried the step recommended by R Neil? Do you have an Intel GPU configured in the machine?

If yes, the driver might be causing the issue, please install a previous version. Here is the link: Support for Intel® Graphics Drivers
