I update Premiere today. The first few times I entered the Color workspace, everything worked fine.
After 20 minutes of editing in the workspace, Premiere crashed, and every time I have opened it since, everything works until I click on the Color workspace tab, at which point the program freezes and crashed. This happens regardless of the project that I am working on.
I have tried reinstalling Premiere, but it did not help the problem. (I am able to make Lumetri adjustments in the effects panel.)
Is anyone else having this issue?
Go to the Windows/Workspaces tab, and click the "Reset to Saved Layout" option.
If that doesn't help, find (from the Preferences dialogs) where your cache & media cache database files are, and close PrPro, delete everything in there, and restart PrPro.
Also ... there's a Layouts folder in Windows ... User/(your username)/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/12.0/Profile-Creative-Cloud.
Delete that folder, PrPro will create it as it needs on restart.

Nao funcionou. Coincidentemente aconteceu apos a atualizacao do Premiere.
Alem disso ele faz algo irritante quando em play ou navego o cursor no timeline ele seleciona o arquivo onde o cursor esta. Esse bug é por causa da atualizacao nas opcoes de tratamento de cor que a adobe fez.

Did you try all three possible solutions from above?

I couldn't find that path but this one worked for me. C:>Documents>Adobe>PremierePro>12.0>Profile-User>Layouts.
I deleted all of the layouts in there. Probably 14 or so. i started up Premiere and it worked!

Something was clearly rotten in that folder, and glad you got it cleared and back to work.

Hi Neil, something similar is happening to me with PrPro. When I try to color grade, the computer sometimes restarts and it doesn't show any sin or something about why it restarted. That takes place only with color grading.
My system is a little bit old. I just need to be kind of sure if I need to upgrade.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz 3.50 GHz
RAM: 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable)
OS: Windows 10
Graphic card: Radeon RX 590 Series 8 GB (Saphire)
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87-D3HP
Thank U in advance

What it sounds like is that just overloads that old system, sadly. And yes, it's old ...

Yes, we have two boxes (Windows 10) that have this issue. Hopefully an update comes soon for it.

Just to be clear ... you closed PrPro, removed that layouts folder mentioned, rebooted, and still have the issue?
If so, I'd run the Adobe CC Cleaner tool, without uninstalling first! ... and wipe out Adobe PrPro 12.x. Then manually go to the above folder locations and make sure everything is gone.
Then reboot, and from the CC app, download/install another fresh copy.

No, it does work after removing the layouts folder but after working with it for a while it will crash again. Probably have experienced it three different times.

Then follow the advice about the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool use. And as noted, don't uninstall prior to running the "cleaner" as the instructions say ... use the Cleaner to do the uninstall. I've several bouts of experience with that tool. Very needed at times.

Followed and this does not work either. I have tried EVEYTHING here and other places. Color tab constantly force closes Premiere Pro sinse the new update.

Just to be clear the problem comes in when you click to color tab then click to editing tab. It gives an error to want to reset the tab. it does this and then wants to crash when you go back to color. i don't know why it wants to keep resetting the editing tab. so weird.

Hi Neil (R Neil Haugen)
I'm wondering where you saw the item to just use the cleaner tool to remove the software? On the instructions to the page you linked it says this right at the top...

Much experience. I've probably used the Cleaner 30 times, minimum, over the last six years. When you run the uninstall via the CC app then try to run the Cleaner, maybe 20-50% of the time, the Cleaner doesn't "see" anything of the app you wanna remove, so it doesn't give you the option to remove/clean up. To get around that, you have to re-install the app via the CC app, then run the Cleaner.
Why not just start by running the Cleaner first? There was one particularly nasty bug that needed Cleaning a few years back, and this was the only way to get it. Product Support Manager Kevin Monahan is also one who recognizes that using the Cleaner to just nuke it saves time anyway. Neither he nor I have heard of any issue from anyone using the Cleaner for the uninstall, and we've talked about it.
So I'm entirely comfortable in suggesting it. I never uninstall via the CC app if I'm having an issue. Always via the Cleaner tool.

Just got a new PC so everything is freshly installed and it did it again. Click on the Color tab and it crashes. Removing the preferences folder clears it up to get back to color tab. Also I did remove all of the adobe apps on my Macbook Pro and used the cleaning tool. Similar thing happened, beach ball came up and crashed on the color tab but upon relaunch it seemed to work without removing the preferences folder.

Armenhamer, I have this EXACT same issue and have tried all these recommended actions to no avail. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone having this issue. I can't afford this to continue being an issue as I need PP to be up and running as I have to edit a bunch. R Neil has advised me prior and unfortunately wasn't able to resolve this problem. I even reinstalled PP and STILL crashes after switching to the Color workspace from any other workspace. ADOBE, PLEASE UPDATE WITH A FIX ASAP!
