Project Says Saved to Newer Vision But Was Not

I have two project files that won't open in Premiere Pro 25.6.2. These were both initially created two weeks ago and I haven't needed an updates in months. Now, when I try to open the files, I get a pop-up error box saying, "This porject was saved in a new version of Adobe Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version."

Files from a few months ago open no problem. My new project from today opens without any issue as well. It is just these two projects from a couple weeks ago that are having this issue. I need to expore a style from either of these videos, otherwise I'd let it go.

I have updated my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro, and the issue persists.

What can I do to get these projects to open again?
Is there a way to export the style without opening the projects perhaps?

You may want to go into the auto save folder (usually near where your project is saved) and trying to see if you can open an earlier version which may be helpful.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I tried every auto save file and none would open. Just kept getting the same error.

Hey Tasha, sorry for this frustration!

We have a Project Downgrader tool that you can drop your .prproj file into. This will convert it to the correct version and you will be able to open in 25.6.2

Here's a link to the Project Downgrader tool: https://adobe.ly/4asmq7P

Hope it helps,

Caroline
