Remove Auto Tool Selection in Timeline Panel

Auto tool selection in the timeline is more a hindrance than a benefit. This is especially true when working with multiple small clips and more complex timelines.
Example: I have a track full of edited clips that I wish to play through and refine. During this process I will need to rearrange certain clips with the mouse cursor. If I don't zoom in far enough the clips are too small to easily grab with the mouse as the auto tool selection kicks in when near the ends of the clips. The Selection Tool changes to the Edit Tool and I end up shortening or lengthening clips by accident and sometimes unknowingly.
Solution: Add a preference setting that allows a user to remove auto tool selection in timeline, having to manually swap out when wanting to perform an edit with the cursor.
Cheers
