I updated to CC2018 v12 today and the way my ripple edit trim tool works has changed.
When selecting multiple edit points to ripple trim, it no longer trims them all equally or shifts the clips along the timeline. Now, it trims each clip one extra frame than specified and leaves an ever increasing gap.
Image 01 - I have five image clips all 10 frames long in the timeline and I want to trim the out points by 1 frame.
Image 02 - I select all the out points and ripple trim them 1 frame. Now my first clip is 9fr, second clip 8fr, third clip 7fr and so on...it also leaves the in points as they were instead of shifting everything along like it used to, this is resulting in gaps.
I'm using .jpgs in the screen grabs but have also tested with video files and get the same result.
Please note that the main issue here is that it is trimming a different number of frames from each clip, I'm aware I can close gaps on the new version. Though I much preferred when it automatically deleted these gaps in ripple trim mode.
Is this a bug?

How are you doing this:
I select all the out points

I enter ripple trim mode (B) and then use the mouse to select all five out points. Then I use cntrl left arrow to trim one frame.

Update - Chatting to Adobe (Via messenger) today, She said they didn't know about this issue, (she said it actually suppose to do this! I corrected her!!) I asked for it to be fixed...ASAP!! Hopefully, at least now it's in the system, she said that the technicians now know this and will work on it in the Lab... They are also looking into the Grey Search bar issues. Yay!!! Ann Bens

Here, I just copied and pasted exactly what she said:
The feature is working fine .
These are not overlapping but the clips aer connected to each other once they are cut.
I am sorry this is how the tool is design .
Then I said NO it's Not!!!

This is killing my credit timing for shows. No work around that I can find so if any one else has one I'm all ears.

Not sure if this will help you, but it's helped me sometimes.
Select the group of clips on the timeline and change the speed and Duration to the duration you need then Click on the Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips box and then OK, then it brings all the clips back together.
Hope that helps, till we get our tools back.... Guuurrrr!!!

(Also Search is still broken)

There is definitely something dodgy going on here. If I ripple trim multiple edits I get clips overlapping each other which should be impossible:

This is still broken in Version 12.1.1 (Build 10)
We just updated on our show to 2018 from 2018, on Windows 10.
Is worth sticking with 2018, I hear it might be best to skip right to 2019 when using Windows 10.
