Hi Gullerullen,

This is my system specifications:

So far seems to be fine, it could be an issue with the OS.

Which OS are you on?

Please check for the system requirements here:

An iMac 14,2 shipped with Mac OS X 10.8.4 preinstalled (iMac "Core i5" 3.4 27-Inch (Late 2013) Specs (Late 2013, ME089LL/A, iMac14,2, A1419, 2639) @ EveryMa... ).

If you're still running that version of OS X, the newest version of Premiere that you'll be able to run is CC 2014.

If you're running Mac OS X 10.9.5, the newest version of Premiere that you'll be able to run is CC 2015.

If you're running Mac OS X 10.12, you'll be able to run CC 2017.

You should be able to upgrade to macOS Sierra 10.12 for free via the App Store; however, if you have the ability to make a bootable backup of your Macintosh HD before you upgrade, do so.  Depending on the software that you're currently running, OS upgrades can go smoothly or be a complete train wreck.

Hi Gullerullen:

Yes, you should be able to update to macOS 10.12 via the Apple App Store.

Go to the Apple pulldown menu at the upper left of your Desktop and choose App Store... (it should be the 3rd choice).  When the App Store is open, select the right most tab "Updates" (if not already selected).  The upgrade option should be featured prominently.

Here are Apple's instructions: How to get macOS Sierra - Apple Support

Some things to consider:

  • If you're in the middle of an important project, don't update yet.
  • You might want to do a clean install of 10.12 rather than an upgrade.
  • If possible, make a bootable back up of your current Macintosh HD (this will require an external hard drive and an application like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper).
