For some reason in my Premier Pro 2024, the timeline tracker does not move while the video is playing. The time in the playback window also does not update. They do not change until I stop the video from playing then the timeline and time both update. Is there a fix for this? I am on Windows 10 with current updates. I've tried to close the program and reopen it. It doesn't work. I also tried starting it with Shift and clearing cache etc as recommended on an older version. No luck.
It is difficult to edit when not knowing where one is on the timeline while playing.
Thank you
Suzette
I had the same problem.
Just go to Windows -> Workspaces and select "Reset to Saved Layout"
Hope the fix works for you too.
Hi @Winginsue,
Thanks for writing in with your bug report. It's been a while since you filed this, though. Are you still having this issue?
If so, there could be a few different reasons for having such playback problems but we'd need to know more about your system and media. Can you give the team more information? See, How do I write a bug report?
I hope we can help you shortly. Sorry for the hassle.
Cheers,
Kevin

I've noticed that if my current window is Essential Graphics (I mean this particular window is open) - the CTI playhead does not move while the video is live. When I switch to the Lumetri window for instance (or any other except Essential Graphics) - and CTI works again. Try it! PP version 24.6.1 build 2, WIndows 11

Weird! This happened to me too, and AndyBear's solution fixed it. Thank you!
