Transcribing a multicam sequence for text based editing, finding the source transcription

Explorer ,
Oct 15, 2023 Oct 15, 2023

I'm currently using text based editing for a multicam sequence, I want to label the speakers, but I get the pop-up that explains that I need to do this in the "source transciption" I'm clicking on the source files for the MCS and there isn't a transcription for them, I was able to get the transcript from the MCS, but now how do I label them, is there a hot key or place to reveal a source transcription? Sorry if this has been asked somewhere else, thanks

Hello there, @Udrowz,

I am sorry that the community could not fix your issue. Moving forward, please contact assisted support directly to help you find a solution to this problem. The chat pod is in the lower-right corner of the screen there. Ask for the “video queue” to reach our digital video specialists. I hope they can help you.

Let us know what they say so that the community can stay informed and help others having trouble with the same situation.

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi @Udrowz @Kevin-Monahan,

Any update to this? I have a multicam sequence that the transcription worked, but I am not able to edit the speaker names. Very frustrating.

Hi @Randy Warren and @Udrowz,

Thanks for the question. Did you try contacting support directly? I'm sorry if they could not help you. What I would do is try the following:

  1. Right-click the Multicamera Source Sequence in the Project panel.
  2. Choose "Open in Timeline"
  3. In the Timeline, right-click the clip you want to change and choose "Reveal in Project."
  4. Double-click the clip in the Project panel.
  5. In the Source Monitor, click the Text panel.
  6. Make your change.
  7. Done.

I hope the advice works for you. Let us know if it does or not. Sorry for the frustration on this.

Thanks,
Kevin
