When saving edited text by pressing ESC or clicking off, the window jumps to the top, and when playback continues, it scrolls down to where it left off. The time it takes to get back is too long and leisurely. By then, they might have moved past what you edited, and you lose your place. This happens regularly and constantly breaks the workflow. It also allows mistakes to be made if going back means waiting 5 seconds to listen again if any errors were missed. Then, the bug is prone to happen again. This has also not been a new problem since text-based editing was introduced. Please fix this. It should stay exactly where the window was scrolled to when saving the edit.

Thank you for your feedback!
Would it be possible for you to send us your project file via direct-message (without the audio media) in order for us to reproduce the issue? It looks like the audio setup of your sequence might be special and cause some kind of performance issue after performing any edits.
Best regards,
Alexander

Yes, that really disrupts the workflow. I don't recall any other report of this problem.
There is a bug that is still present in 24.5.0 that does what you describe, but it is entering the Marker dialogue box that triggers the jump to the top of the transcript.
It was not noted in that report or my response, but hitting play picks up where you left off - as you report in your situation.
In any event, you have the Marker panel open, but I don't see markers in the area in your screen recording, and you are not adding a marker when the problem occurs.
I tested on PR 24.5 Win 10. Follow active monitor and Auto-scrolling are on. I tested with a single clip and also unlinked the audio and separated onto 2 tracks. I tried it with and without the Markers panel open.
I picked a section far enough into the timeline that it had room to scroll to the top. I start/stopped playback with the space bar and used the Enter key to enter edit mode. I used the Esc key to exit. I did not get scrolling, and the space key resumed playback at the point it stopped.
I have nothing in the search box and you don't appear to either. (There is an issue in some circumstances for the timeline to jump to the search location when you don't expect it to.)
There is an issue where the transcript window jumps to the top when the Transcript View options are accessed:
A possible workaround, if your transcript is not too long, is to use the Text-editing Workspace and adjust the panel to keep as much of the transcript in view as possible. It will reduce the scroll time.
@Kerstin Ebert @Alexander_DVA Can you replicate? The marker dialogue problem is still present in beta 24.6.0.75.

@Alexander Riss The audio is the only media, and I don't understand how you want the media removed. Please explain this process further with steps.

Still experiencing this. I'm using 24.6. When I'm trying to edit a marker, the Transcript goes to the very start.

You don't need to remove it. Just don't send it. When they open it, it will just be off-line.

I'm having a similar issue when I open the 'rename clip' dialogue box from the timeline, it jumps to the top of the transcription, which is very annoying when I'm trying to rename the clips based on the words spoke in it.
