Video from b/w to color with the move of paintbrush in the video

Hello

i was filming a video with a kid with paintbrush in his hand

and i want to make the video start all b/w

then by the movement of the paintbrush in the video the video will start to be colorful

i know few ways to make the video b/w at start

but i dont know how can i make it colorful by movement

also i can use premiere or after effect... i'm not sure what is better for this

Are you trying to"paint in the color" with the paint brush movement?

You will need to create masks that follow the brush by using a rotoscope process - After Effects

A more simple generalised approach could be done with a transition such as a cross dissolve corresponding with the paint brush action.  PPro
