Adobe glossary seems to be quite brief and not saying anything about these types of markers. As well as most of Youtube videos that never cover them. There are 5 types of markers here. And I've got several questions about them:
1) What is the difference between Comment, Chapter and Segmentation markers? When you chose one of them only the label color automatically changes, and the only difference is that the Comment marker has a comment text box, whilst the other two don't.
So why should I use Chapter and Segmentation markers if I can just use the Comment marker and don't type anything in the comment section? Why are there Chapter and Segmentation markers if you can just create one of them and change the color yourself?
2) What's the Web Link for? What is the Frame target - what should I type there? Why is there a separate marker for a web link if you can just type the link in the Comment Marker text box if you need it?
3) What is the Flash Cue Point, what is it for? If it concerns the flash animation, then why is it still in Premiere Pro if Adobe flash was abandoned in 2020 or somewhere near.
What are these Event and Navigation types for, what do they do and what should one type in the Value text box?
Thank you.
And please be more technical, I'm not a baby

Comment markers are self explanatory
chapter markers we use to use for DVD and blue ray. I think VLC can read those markers (not sure).
Segmentation not really sure what those are.
Web link is also self-explanatory
Don't think the Flash markers apply anymore.

In addition to what @Ann Bens wrote:
Chapter Markers will be embedded when exporting to QuickTime and can be accessed in QuickTime Player and other applications that support Chapter Markers.
Segmentation Markers will be embedded in broadcast formats like MXF and MPEG-2 to be accessed by broadcast automation servers, digital playout systems, and content distribution networks.
Comment Markers are meant for just that, comments. What's helpful about them is that we can choose File > Export > Markeres... to save a spreadsheet as text, CSV, or HMTL. This might work with marker types other than Comment Markers. I've always stuck with Comment Markers for this purpose.
Web Link Markers embed an HTML hyperlink for video formats that support it. Movies with hyperlinks are commonly referred to as "wired movies". Wired movie files were popular in the early 2000s.
Flash Cue Points place a marker that can be accessed via ActionScript in Adobe Animate (formerly Adobe Flash). I always used them with what are now legacy QuickTime formats. Still, they should work with any video format that can be imported into an Adobe Animate project authored for ActionScript platforms.

Thank you, colleagues, for an explanation, this makes it clearer. I think Adobe should add more info to the official guides on Pr.
If anyone has something to add to the said above I'd be much oblidged. I'd like to make a video guide for my students on how the markers work including all the tiny nuances that may be there.

Hey @Warren Heaton
Can you give me an example of how to use a Web link marker or possibly a sample video that uses it? I'd like to see how it actually works and what video formats support it. And one for the Flash Cue Points please. I'm interested in what exactly these Event and Navigation fields do
