Only thing I can think of:

Go to your preferences > graphics and check if you have 'right to left' default paragraph direction selected.

'South asian and Middle eastern' may also be selected under the Text Engine' area in this panel.

Change to 'European and East Asian'

 

There is also  'left to right typing' and 'right to left typing' buttons in the Essential Graphics panel - have a look to see if one of them is active ... but for me these are greyed out and only become active IF it's set to 'right to left' in preferences noted above.
