I am working on a historic video and have been lucky enough to receive videos from the 1930s to today. Because they are so different, I know I will need different sequences? How can I edit them together well? Any advice on how to tackle this project?

There were no commercial video recorders of any sort until the mid 50s so any earlier footage must have been shot on film and transferred to video later.

Can you put a sample clip on another computer with MediaInfo on it?
What is the file extension of the video?
Do you know the codec?
Can you get this information from the archivist or find out what software and hardware was used to digitize it?
