I was told today by Adobe Tech support that Premiere Pro CC 2017 can not play timecode from a QT uncompressed video file on a Mac.
It must be transcoded to another codec for Premiere Pro to play it correctly. MP4 preferably or use Windows OS.
Does that sound right?
I created the files in After Effects 14.2.0.198 and exported them as QT uncompressed 23.976 video and Premiere Pro on a Mac can't deal with the timecode.
In Premiere the TC is wrong. Markers show the wrong TC. Overlays of Source TC show wrong TC. Modify TC shows original and alternate both different and wrong.
But in QuickTime player, Resolve, FCP, AfterEffects, Bridge, they all show and play the correct TC.
I'm using the latest version of Adobe CC on
Mac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015)
4 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon R9 M395x 4096 MB
OSX 10.11
Have something to add?
