I like to have just 2 Timelines/Sequences open at a time; one with the rushes/daylies (also loaded into the source monitor, just like om Avid), and one Timeline where I'm working in. However I always have a lot of different source timelines that I need to switch between. I don't like having all these Timelines open, because it gets cluttererd quickly.
It would be ideal if there was an option to limit the amount of open Timeline Panels. So for example, when the limit is set to 2, and you open a third Timeline, the first Timeline that was opened gets closed automaticly.
