Live (Dynamic Link) Bins

PROBLEM: Due to the nature of my work, I slow get footage for different projects over a couple weeks or months. As I get new footage/music/foley for a project, it seems pretty old school to have to import each set of files into my windows folder structure then manually import the files into premiere to match that folder structure.

IDEA: Allow for the import of a folder tree into the premiere project panel to be displayed as bins. After that's done, you can have the preference to (1) update the bins on project open (2) auto update the bins every XX minutes, or (3) you can right-click any bin in the project panel and update it if you just added some footage to the windows folder structure. This would really cut down on one of my workflow bottlenecks since I normally have 2 or 3 projects in the works at the same time.

Resolve has a similar feature called Power Bins. They show up in every project, and any media added to the folders on the hard drive automatically show up in the bins.

The links from Project Browser to files on disk do need work. DL bins is a great idea along this line.

I love this idea. Only addition would be some kind of indicator in the bin to show newly added files?

This would be absolutely amazing and I'm surprised it hasn't been implemented before now.

The basis for implementation is already there with AME Watch Folders, just need to port it over to Premiere!

Check out Watch Bins with Pro IO. I wanted the same functionality, so I built this so you can sync project bins with actual directories in one click.
