Hi, I am trying to create caption in Bahasa Indonesia for a Video. But Premiere Pro auto caption allows only few languages such as English, Mandarin, Spanish, German, French and Japanese, etc.
It will be helpful if Bahasa Indonesia is available for this feature because my video editing project is in Bahasa Indonesia.
I agree this would be a valuable addition. Bahasa Indonesia is widely used, and native support for auto captions would save editors a lot of time compared to generating captions in another language and correcting them manually. Hopefully Adobe expands its language support in a future update.
You can usually change the carousel’s aspect ratio by adjusting the image container’s CSS or setting a fixed width-to-height ratio. Also, if you’re working with media apps, check out how their thumbnails are sized can give you a useful reference.
I ran into this exact problem myself while working on video projects — and eventually decided to build my own solution.
CaptionLab is a plugin for Adobe Premiere Pro that generates subtitles right on your project's timeline. No third-party apps, no browser tabs — everything happens inside Premiere.
Built on top of OpenAI Whisper — one of the most accurate speech recognition models out there.
What it does: — Bahasa Indonesia + 98 more languages Adobe still doesn't support — 100% offline — your video and audio never get uploaded anywhere, everything runs locally on your own machine — One click — select a clip or the whole sequence, hit Generate, it creates an SRT file you just drag onto the timeline — No cloud, no API keys — safe for NDA projects — No subscription, no limits, no credits, no tokens — buy once and forget about monthly payments — Works on both Mac (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows, with NVIDIA GPU acceleration on Windows for faster results
— Interface available in Bahasa Indonesia too
Screenshots below showing it running with Bahasa Indonesia.
For those looking for a professional workflow for Bahasa Indonesia right now: I’ve created a tool that bridges the gap between 3rd party transcription services and Premiere Pro.
With the V1.1 release today, the tool now supports Sonix.ai, ElevenLabs, Open AI Whisper, Google Chirp and AssemblyAI JSON files. It converts them into Premiere-ready files so you can use the Text-Based Editing features immediately. It’s a paid tool, but it's currently the fastest way to get accurate Indonesian transcripts into your timeline.
Its so very limited language that adobe premiere offer to use auto transcribe, there are lots of application that offer almost complete language for auto transcribe..
cmon adobe, its already 2025.. i hate to use third party for transribing then coming back to premiere..
It's been years since the auto transcription feature appeared in premiere pro and for years adobe premiere pro users from Indonesia and Malaysia have asked adobe to add Indonesian & Malaysian language features but the adobe team has never paid attention. Video editing applications on mobile phones such as Capcut & filmora can only include the Indonesian & Malaysian auto caption feature. Imagine a new team of software developers can make an effort where their software is free and if paid the price is much cheaper than adobe premiere pro. come on adobe team that simple feature can't be entered, we pay a lot of money, how come such trivial things you can't do.
