Adobe Premiere Elements sports a cool Beat Detection feature, unfortunately the Pro version doesn’t. Why is that? And why can't paying CC subscribers use the Elements version for free? Or do I miss something?
You are right, it is not available in Premiere Pro.
But I developed this 3rd party plugin Beat Edit which adds beat detection to Premiere Pro.
It is compatible with CC2014 and newer. It detect the beats and also (optionally) additional rhythmically relevant points. Then you can generate sequence or clip markers at these beats, which is helpful both as guides for manual editing and for automatic edits with "Automate to Sequence".
Here is a tutorial showing the general functionality of BeatEdit
Very clever and very impressive work on this extension to PPro.
FWIW: Just a comment about "editing to beats" and my opinion - for readers/editors...
Its not always best to use the beat as the edit point ( cut point). Placing the action on the beat instead of the "cut" is sometimes more dynamic and sometimes the better choice for flow.
Beat cuts can be very mechanical looking.
This software would easily aid that edit decision. ie its the cut or the action on the marker.
This is a very interesting point! When you want to accuratly place a specific action on a beat, you can also add a clip marker at the action (manually) and then when you move the clip, the action marker snaps to your beat markers.

In general, the existence of third party solutions (BeatEdit for Premiere Pro) lowers the pressure for the core team to add such features fast. They can focus more on other urgent features, since if it is essential for you, you can purchase it already now.
But of course, the more feature requests they get, the more likely it becomes that they will eventually add this feature to the core program.

You honestly said that because you don't want to loose the passive income. It wont be nothing to their team, maybe you should try selling the plugin to them and negotate some sort of royalties you can receive, but i am pretty sure they will do it as much as people are asking for it and they are loosing customers to capcut.
