Audio playback in Premiere Pro

I have two audio tracks of the same recording that I'm trying to match up in Premiere Pro; one from a video recording app on my smartphone (Filmic Pro) and the other recorded via QuickTime through my MacBook Pro.  I've done this many times and it's always worked fine. Clap sync the two recordings and line them up in Premiere Pro to edit the better audio from the external mic recorder to the camera footage of the smartphone. This time however the recorded audio is running far faster than the camera, so when you line up the clap sync the audio drifts instantly (as you can see in the photo below).  Within seconds the two audio feeds are miles apart. The footage is 24FPS with audio at 48Khz, the audio only record is also 48Khz.  What could be causing this and how do I fix it?  Cheers...
