BACKED UP/ COPIED PREMIERE PROJECT- SCREWED FOOTAGE

I copied a 2 TB Premiere v. 14.6 on to a new Lacie Rugged Hard Drive. Not only did it screw up most of my sequences- parts of each clip are banded in the timeline and that section of the clip will not play back, but it also corrupted the sequences on my ORIGINAL project. WTF? Help please!!! I am under a deadline.
