Brand New PC Build - Laggy Timelines & Audio Cuts In/Out - Sony MP4

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X

GPU: GeForce RTX 2070

RAM: 64GB DDR4 3600ghz

Footage: Sony MP4 and ProRes 422

I literally just switch from Mac to PC and built this system. Upon opening first project, my timeline is way laggy-er than my 2017 MacBook Pro. Questioning why I even switched because it is not heavy duty RAW or RED footage. WHY is it so laggy? Do I have a setting wrong?

Please let us know more about the media specifications (frame size, frame rate and the codec of the mp4 file), the effects applied on these clips and the location of these clips (internal/external/network drive). Also, please ensure that the Renderer is set to Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA).
