I have Premiere Pro cs5. When I try to take this one video file from the media browser and move it to the source box it wont load instead it gives me this message.

Premiere Pro has encountered an error: [..\..\Scr\Timecode.cpp-1077]

I can open the video file and play it just fine in my computer.

Any suggestions?

Hi Mark,

We appreciate you writing in. I understand you're getting an error on importing a file to Premiere Pro.

  • Does it happen to a specific file?
  • Have you tried a different method for importing the file?

Additionally, please test the issue after changing the media location.

Let us know if it brings any change.

Thanks,

Shivangi

I know this is an old post, but in case others see this issue.  For me, the problem was an incorrect frame rate being set as it tries to read from the file. I had to right click on the media -> Modify -> Interpret Footage, and then manually set the correct frame rate. That solved the error for me.
