Layered Photoshop files are not coming in as nested sequecnes in Premiere Pro

I usually import layered Photoshop files into Premiere as a sequence at document dimensions, and usually this gives me a sequence that I can drag into my timeline and it will become a nested sequence. For some reason now that has changed and when I repeat these same steps, the Photoshop sequence no longer can be placed as a nested sequence. Instead, it automatically "unpacks" into individual layers, which is not helpful. Anyone know what is going on here?
