I know this is an old thread but I am just going back to making videos and have the same problem with photos being too big. When I frame to size they are not very clear . Is there any way to reduce size without losing clarity. Even on my computer screen I can see the images are a bit out of focus when the original is fine.
Set to frame-size it normally the best option for reducing images either stills or video. As then you can go in and manually scale to your heart's content if you wish, without losing quality.
What is the frame-size of your sequence, and what is the pixel dimensions of your image?
