Hi, I have been using Svgz files for a while now but the last couple of updates for illustrator the svgz files do not work. I could not view these files till they were on the server So I would make both SVG and svgz files use the SVG to visually code then add the z to the file name on the server this worked well. Now the svgz files display with a missing file icon All my old svgz files work and display perfectly but anything i produce now is broken Has anyone else seen this and know what to do to resolve it

Hi, Anshul, Yes before I posted I tried making new documents new links adding old links the issues seems to be with the export process When I downgraded all the different files test files all exported correctly I intend to complete this project before upgrading again.

Hi Anshul I Did a variety of tests Some pages only had links created in 14.0.2 Some pages had links created in both the previous version and 14.0.2 All links failed when exporting via 14.0.2 using the interactive pdf export option I have downgraded to the previous version and all links whether they were created in 14.0.2 or not work perfectly so I have to assume that it's something to do with the export feature of 14.0.2.

Hi, the links Created are hyperlinks Not buttons and are all Correct in the hyperlinks panel This issue arises with exporting as some links were created in the previous version and some in the new version None of the links work when exported from 14.0.2 I Have spent the best part of a day rebuilding and testing links I have downgraded to the previous version and all the links export perfectly so in my humble opinion its a bug with 14.0.2 I have been building interactive pdfs for the past 20 years be that just in Acrobat and more lately in InDesign, The Previous version was build using hand programmed JS as drop-down menus But I don't think they work in Tablets so I am reverting to hyperlinks Apologies if I was not clear in my original post Yes the links worked perfectly in the previous version of InDesign but not in 14.0.2 I put the code from within Acrobat to show the difference in the links when exported from both versions. sorry, this was not clear. Downgrading made all the links work that were created in 14.0.2 work perfectly so I assume its only in the export process that there is an issue. I am exporting via interactive pdf

PDF Hyperlinks Problem I am 70 % through a task making an authors index for a collection of magazines I am trying to make a file for each letter of the alphabet where each author is listed linking to every article they have written in the collection up to now everything seems to be going fine But we had some adobe updates yesterday to InDesign 2019 (version 14.0.2) Basically, each file i have made now seems not to work. In Acrobat I get a message saying cannot open "File name xxx.pdf " which is the correct file name. I have looked at the Link Properties Dialogue box in Acrobat in both working and non-working files below are the differences. Non Working file Actions Go to a page in another document File: ( this pace is just empty) Page :1 Zoom level: Inherit When I go to a file which does work ie pre the upgrade the info is Actions Go to a page in another document File: xxx/xx/xxx/named.pdf Page :1 Zoom level: Inherit Strange that acrobat knows exactly which document it can't open, the information must be still in the file Some of the links in the new files are just straight copies from the older files, the links linking the alphabetical pages together.

JoãoCésar Thank you for instructions surprisingly I was able to generate a working Fla and export via Air for desktop and got a working result Success for a personal effort but seeing the various elements involved in generating the final installers I am probably going to have to provide a range of screen sizes and for mac, windows and Unix As this is a commercial project I don't think I have the knowledge resources to create and test all the different installers to ensure what is delivered is up to my clients expectations. Can you or anyone recommend the best place to find a freelancer to complete this task? Kind regards Graeme

I am looking for the best way to Create an Analog Clock Screensaver or desktop wallpaper. I need it to be able to work across platforms the only thing I have found online is how to do it with Flash. So I thought here would be the best place to ask. Are there companies offing a service like this and is flash the only way to do this appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction It's a commercial job and needs to work on Unix mac os and windows. I have commissions a stunning illustration and have been able to animate the hands of the clock for a video in AE now I have been asked if it can become wallpaper or screen saver but as an actual working clock/timepiece. After upgrading To 2019 My UI was very large I reduced it back down to the size I normally have it, in the preferences but the background panel and more importantly any window created is larger than my screen depth wise. This was the case at the large UI size too. Any idea how i can rest the UI to fit my screen On a mac os 10.14 Graeme

Over The last couple of Days ai files which normally appear with transparent Backgrounds in Indesign All applications versions are the latest of Adobe CC The artboard of the Ai file appears to have a white fill there is no white fill and I find if I save the file as an eps that the file will display correctly Over the years I have migrated away from eps file preferring the native ai format which means I can define artboard size which is better for placing and updating file in InDesign When i output the files to print quality pdf files the artboards remain white so it not just the display thing Has anyone come across this is it a bug or is it something to do with my set up as there has been no recent upgrade for this to start happening Appreciate any info or insight into the problem On A Mac Pro Early 2013 which is still the latest machine and all up to date with OS

Just an update as you asked looked into in 5 as you suggested seems a great solution, then I found out a lot more about the bakerframework.com I am trying out a plugin from Kentif Publishing with InDesign. But rapidly came to understand that I could take a much simpler approach, by creating the magazine in Responsive (Bootstrap) HTML 5 and css 3 and cut out InDesign altogether but still use the bakerframework.com I remember back in the late eighties trying to use Quark to publish web pages, in the end, I purchased Dreamweaver and started from scratch creating HTML pages. Supprised me just how long it took me to recognise the same scenario with this, that it's probably simpler more efficient and far more flexible to code your own bootstrap template as the basis for each magazine. Kind of help that I design and create websites based on Joomla bootstrap templates. Funny how you can compartmentalize different areas of your work.

Hi Glad to see they offer Joomla version of the plugin again worth investigation as we already have a large back catalogue of pdfs and although this is not as complete an option as the in5 solution it is something very doable

I have been asked to look into a platform or system to digitally deliver Magazines via secured pdf or some online app system. From previous forays, these tend to be enterprise systems and far too costly for my needs. Can anyone suggest a system that might suite Niche Digital publishing? I help publish a niche quarterly magazine which is sold on a subscription only basis via a web site the magazine is print and distributed around the world. We also sell pdfs which can only be purchased in sets of 10 or as a whole catalogue of back issues and only on CD or DVD. Basically, the magazine relies totally on its subscription basis, there is limited advertising which generates negligible revenue. The mag sells for £2.50 plus postage so not a big cash generator it’s more a labour of love to the editor but in its area is highly respected. Production of the magazine in what ever format will not be an issue, as its produced in InDesign it’s more the secure delivery of the magazine in a manner that does not under mind the subscription model of the magazine. Any thoughts or recommendations appreciated.

Hi I am on Font Agent Pro 7 and i have not yet upgraded to Indesign 2017 I cannot see anywhere online that they have said that their Plug ins work in fact they have only said that they are testing with the early release of 2017. I doubt that Font Agent Pro 6 is likely to work and would imaging Font Agent Pro 7 to be there priority

Hi philippanmei I really appreciate the way yo have tried to help me for that i thank you But I originate all my documents in indesign and produce my pdfs in spreads or in two up view with a cover I kind of new there was no support for the vast majority of pdf viewers but ask the question to see if anyone new of any strategies that would resolve this ever growing infuriating issue. Back in the day when acrobat was the only pdfs viewer available to most of the planet life was simple but today most pdfs are no longer views in acrobat Sadly this makes try67 the correct answer Again thank you for your efforts

Hi Think you have miss understood my question I can force Two page view in acrobat and acrobat reader, but many people view pdfs in web browsers tablets and phone even other companies pdf viewers, most of these ignore the settings that are default in acrobat and the page end up in single view. Even if there was the ability to view the pages in a two up with a cover in non acrobat readers most people would not think to do this . My question was is there any universal solution or strategy to the problem that would work across most viewers browser plugins and tablets

Have been producing print brochures 2 up with covers for many years but with so many devices browsers and viewers available it is becoming a nightmare. In the past i could force the pdfs to download from a website and hopefully it would be views in acrobat reader as would most email attachment but with the proliferation of readers browsers and devices that can handle pdfs. Using Acrobat specific views are becoming problematic. Problem is there are so many advantages to 2 up with covers view like the ability to print pages duplex etc which clients seem to like but they complain that their clients are viewing the pdf in single page view. Currently I am solving this issue by send in the pdfs in two formats 1, 2 up with covers view 2, As straight spreads As the pdfs are often around the 12 megs in size Any thoughts strategy to overcome this issue much appreciated

Hi Bernd I totally understand that but in previous version i could create and use a digital ID using a vector file I can still make a digital id in Acrobat DC with my vector file but i cannot see anywhere to apply it only seems to be able use the options you describe.

In Previous version of Acrobat i could use a A vector signature I can still Make a digital Id in preferences but this does not show up as an option in the fill and sign section of Acrobat In this section I can only select a bit map file I use acrobat all the time but there are certain tasks i do once a year or once every few years because of the major changes in each release of Acrobat since version 9 I seem to spend more time working out how to do a relatively simple task, so apologies if this an inappropriate question

alisaird I have reported the problem to many forums and submitted a bug report, just waiting to see if they intend to fix this. Like you I have a back catalog of work that no longer functions in Acrobat DC. I am relying on the fact that business users are very slow at updating their versions of acrobat reader. Without a fix i am going to have to deal with a lot of irate clients and in many cases there is no easy fix to my work much of it will have to be designed. I am really relying on fix and am unsure of what action to take is none is forth coming. it would be really helpful if adobe could let us know one way or another so i can start working on a strategy to deal with this problem other than just sitting here with my fingers crossed hoping.
