Where did you get this font? I see several possible sources, some legit and others not so legit. Also: How are you converting? Word has a couple of ways... the first is to simply Save As and select PDF from Word's export file formats. The other, if you have Acrobat installed, is to Save as Adobe PDF, or pull down the Acrobat menu and Create PDF. What you are showing looks more like what would have if you were going the other way, i.e. exporting a PDF to Word. Some fonts embed with custom encodings that do not play well in that scenario. ... Interesting. Your Bold font appears to be the same, but the font that was Regular in the previous one seems to have been changed to a different weight (it's also ever so slightly larger). Did you happen to load Maku from Adobe Fonts at the same time? I know there's more weights there than what's in the OS (which should just ne regular and Bold) and you might be getting a conflict. In the meantime.... You could try an old pre-press trick we use to "refry" problematic PDFs: Export your PDF as an EPS file (making sure in Settings under fonts to select Embedded and Referenced fonts, and, Under Color Management, select Same as Source). Once that is done, open that resulting EPS in Acrobat. This will invoke Distiller (it will warn you about trust, click OK) and will regenerate the PDF. It should be editable after that. ... Yes. I am seeing the same thing. I was able to recreate the issue. Oddly, the entire document will not allow editing, even to the existing text on the page. There doesn't seem to be any Security/editing restrictions on the file, so this is weird. Even more odd, I can copy and paste any "invisible text" created in your document into another PDF and it shows properly. although the reverse is not true.. i.e. added text on my other PDF will not paste into your document. Also: I attempted to place the PDF into an InDesign document and it fails to import. It WILL open in Illustrator (although wih the expected garbled encoding). Stay tuned. ... View more

It's not a good idea to mix TT and PS fonts of the same family. The fonts are the same designer... it's just that Monotype owns the Font Bureau fonts now. As far as having both loaded at the same time, it definitely creates a conflict, and they tend to be handled on a "first come" basis in terms of how they are loaded in your System. Even so, this can happen differently on a different computer or at different times.. Plus the font caches can get messed up. Despite being different formats, the internal Postscript Name is the same, e.g. "AgencyFB-Bold", so InDesign sees that and says, okay, got it! So despite you loading the fonts from Adobe Fonts, the Bold weight is ignored as it's seen as "already there" and won't allow both to be loaded. This is a System level thing, not InDesign. It may not be enough to deactivate the TT versions. Once you have done that and confirmed the Adobe Cloud versions are loaded, you may have to literally do a find and replace in your document to replace the "missing" AgencyFB-Bold with the "loaded" AgencyFB-Bold for it to clear up (making sure to modify styles at the same time). Like most people that use a lot of fonts, I use a Font Manager which makes it helpul to see what fonts are loaded at any time. In my case here, I have AgencyFB Bold loaded already from Adobe Cloud Fonts, but it will not let me activate the TrueType version stored locally on my computer at the same time. If, howver, i had loaded the Adobe Fonts AFTER starting with the TT version in my system, it would load all the Adobe weights EXCEPT Bold.   ... View more

You will have custom encodings, so this would be unusable outside of the purpose of the PDF which is to print/display the objects in it. As far as allandnone, if this is all you have in your document (according o your screen grab), the degree symbol and one space., you can probably switch that to almost any standard font; although because of the custom encoding, you will need to retype a degree symbol, otherwise you will get a "box" or other gibberish. ... The allandnone tends to happen when using utilities to combine and optimize PDFs that are not "typical" e.g. like some third-party PDF editors, or some of the "converters" online. It tends to be a cumulative effect. Unfortunately, there is no practical way to fix the allandnone after the fact. Since it can be a mix of many fonts in one subset, even if the majority of it was, say Arial, you can't do an effective find and replace without affecting other fonts. What you CAN do is find where the allandnone is being used (assuming you have full Acrobat) in the file by going to Print Production > Preflight (doesn't matter what Profile is selected) > Inventory > Fonts, then review the resulting report. It will show you all the embedded fonts used  and the actual glyphs stored in each subset, and on what pages they appear. You will probably see a glyph set for allandnone that has more than just one font in it.    If you don't need to do any editing, and the allandnone is causing isssue, obvioulsy you can just outline the fonts using a Preflight Profile ... Old prepress guy trivia: Anyone who lived through prepress during the period of the beginning of OSX soon discovered there WERE differences between the ascents on some fonts between Type 1 and TrueType... Helvetica being the biggest problem. The ascent on the TrueType version available in OSX (replacing the Type 1 version previously included in the OS) was taller than the Type 1 version, so any client's file* that used Type 1 reflowed when opened on our OSX system that used the TrueType version. It wasn't so much an issue for (then) PageMaker, which calculated type relative to the baseline, but it WAS an issue with InDesign and, even more so, Quark (which (then) infamously calculated all their type relative to the ascent)   * this was back before PDF became a thing for prepress so we were always using native files. ... I narrowed it down to Acrobat throwing the error. I let it go to see what would happen if I let it go past the zero date , but outside of it saying "it's now disabled", nothing happened. I wonder if there was a bug in the 20458 update at the time/or it didn't install correctly. I feel your pain. Unfortunately, the rules of type design have changed since these baseline methods were first designed. Back then, it was very rare to have a font with a different ascent definition. Now, that's not at all the case, again, epecially with Open Source fonts; these are made by both legitimate foundries, but also "everybody and their dog" who may not have the discipline of the bigger more established foundries. there's a reason most of these are free.  Open Source fonts are the bane of my existence. ...
