I have an alternative solution which will be a bit more flexible and it will often make a better selection than using colour range. Duplicate the layer.. On the top layer, go to Image > Calculations, combine the Red Channel with another copy of itself, using Overlay mode, create a new channel from this; You can do this again to make it even stronger contrast. Go to the Channels panel and isolate the new channel. Then select the Brush tool and change it's mode to Overlay. Paint with Black on the Dark areas and white on the Light areas till you have strong contrast between black and white areas. Make the Channel into a selection and then go back to the layers panel (switch off Alpha and RGB back on) In the Layers panel, make a layer mask from the selection. On the bottom layer, add the Black and White Adjustment layer (this gives more grayscale control than Hue Saturation) - experiment with different preset filters and adjust. I've screen shotted a quick rough version here. I did it very quickly so obviously I'd be more accurate with my brush strokes! 😉 Hope this helps, Angie Taylor | Creative Cabin http://www.creativecabin.co.uk
