Hi Chris, As you've noted, Pr works a bit differently and isn't doing what you'd like. Question - If you load a clip in the Source Monitor, you can use the arrow keys (up and down) to navigate to in and out points, then use the arrow keys to move a frame back, then hit I/O as needed to set in and out points. I have that same NAS set up using NFS. I connect on my Imac Pro via Thunderbolt 3 and my PC via 10GbE.  The only major slowdowns I've noticed are when the NAS is spinning up at the start of the day. Hi Chris, There are many different ways to work.  Couple of i Ctrl / Cmd K or Shift Ctrl / Cmd K can be used to add an edit to a track or all tracks.  That will split a clip or stack of clips. For trimming the tail of a clip that is already in a Sequence: You can also use the up and down arrow keys to navigate to edit points. (clips) After navigating to the end of a clip, Press left key move back a frame and press W to trim the end of the clip by 1 frame. Hope that helps ... View more

I don't see a reason why you can't use that NAS in your workflow. First step would be to confirm whether it's the storage that's causing a slowdown (conpared to a local Pr project connected to local media) Next step would be checking with QNAP to confirm config and settings, etc.   How do you connect?  NFS? I don't think those audio parameters would cause a failed export. What OS are you running?  This could be related to the driver version for the Intel Iris GPU. It may be worth switching between your GPU rendering modes to see if this helps. Project Settings>General> Does it make a difference if you switch from Metal to OpenCL or vice versa? Very strange.  I'm not seeing many recent reports of memory spikes. If you'd like to send me the project, feel free to shoot me a PM. Not sure that I'll be able to reproduce the issue without media, but I can investigate.   May be able to identify something. A few questions: What actions or clip types seem to make this issue work?  Any audio effects involved?  You mentioned no video effects, correct? How big is this project? How much Multicam, etc? What kind of audio device are you using? Any 3rd party hardware like AJA/Blackmagic? Was this project fine in 2018 and instantly noticeable worse after moving to 2019? Have you ever used the Export Selected Sequence as Project?  You can use this command to create pared down projects. Hello, There have been many recent changes related to Nvidia and Intel GPU drivers. Does your machine also have an Nvidia card or is it Intel only? A couple of things that will help move forward. Make sure Nvidia drivers are updated to the latest version (if applicable). Update Intel Drivers directly from the Intel website.  This resolves the issue for most users.  Some Intel hardware is still not happy and some users have gone back to a slightly older version, for example (Driver 25.20.100.6326.exe release date Oct 9, 201) This behavior may vary depending on hardware.  Support can help with this.  I'll provide info below. Hi Brycem59347619, Thanks for providing the crash report info - very useful. This a fairly uncommon but known issue. I have a short term workaround for you involving tracking down and deleting one file.  The crash referenced here can be caused by a faulty json file that can be created during a crash.  Because of this we can end up with a garbage file that causes additional problems / crashes. As you've mentioned, some formats are more render and decode intensive. In the post above, one of the formats is variable frames rate.  I'm guessing that is a screen recording maybe? The Premiere team works on continued improvements for many formats.  Performance is also related to hardware.  4k H264 performs better on high spec machines, etc. Have you considered converting footage that is particular choppy (Like the VFR recordings)?  Have you tried our proxy feature?  Many users have used this option.  Of course, you can create proxies just for specific formats directly in the Project Panel. ...
