Really doesn't matter what I export the file to, I just need to be able to remove pages that were left blank in the version made for print keeping the same layout but without the blanks in between. ?? M

Can't seem to get this right. I did a print version of an .indd file which has blank pages in it. Now I need to do an EPub file and REMOVE the blank pages. The page layout is single pages but when I go to remove a blank ID tells me there are objects on that page ( even though there are not) If I choose yes the blank remains. I tried this using allow pages to shuffle and allow selected spread to shuffle. Same result ??

Fully aware of the expectations see screenshots FIRST is exported fixed layout displays spread in Ipad viewing landscape or portrait SECOND is exported as single page layout in Ipad displays single page layput in portrait and landscape both work fine but at this point I would think exporting to a fixed layout you will either have one ( single page displaying) or spread displaying whether in portrait or landscape you cannot have both views in one export correct ?

So sorry another question, I have been using my desktop to look at epubs in Ibooks but now I see when looking at the epub in question on my Ipad (exported as single page landscape) I cant get the book to view as a spread in landscape. Landscape view in the Ipad only shows a single page. DO I need to re export with a different setting? I also need to keep in mind that I need the landscape spread version to be laid out exactly like the pdf with a blank page first. Please advize Thx M

I have a book file which is made up of sections ( indd files) In each section there needs to be different masters assigned, for instance chapter1.indd has pages that need master artwork placed on the left bottom ( page numbers and icons) and the right bottom ( page numbers and icons) what is the easiest way to assign master pages to different pages WITHIN an .indd in a BOOK FILE .indb

AH I see , I needed to export as Pages /All Pages and Pages /Spreads set to Pages. 1. last thing I have to shift the text box for each page Lets say Master B 0.625 left and the opposite for the right is there a way, I'm sure there is to automate that so each spread has the text boxes in the correct place? I have an .indd file that is created from a few masters 1 master has headers and footers (Left side spread has pg numbers footer on left and right side has pg numbers on right.)The text on those pages are also shifted ( left side left right side right) I cannot see any text boxes on the master page used but when I go to export to pdf the pages all come up with ONLY the left side headers and footers on ALL pages and the text is in the middle. I see the pages are assigned the correct masters so I do not think it is that, Is it a setting in the pdf export? Anyone?

I dont see any of those but I can explain a little better. As far as masters go here is the list None A master B master PAGE I NEED TO DELETE HAS A PAGE NUMBER ON THE MASTER FOOTER which is A master I changed the master for that page to NONE master and the fototer is gone but when I go to delete the page I still get the message that there is content on the page but I see none. Cant delete that master because it effects more pages I need to keep but I need to delete that page and have everything else move up , follow?

I inherited an .indd file which I had to edit some text, this was done and now the actual document went from 175 pages to approx 100. There are now blank pages within in the new saved document and I need to remove the extra ones but when I do it also removes text from the pages going forward. After looking thru I see that SOME not ALL of the pages have threaded text. When I go to delete any of these pages ID says the affected page contains objects delete anyway ? That is the problem as the only objects are the page are the page numbers on the bottom which is from one of the masters, my intent was to delete the page figuring the order would re number itself Can someone let me know what I need to do do as I JUST NEED TO DELETE the blank pages but keep the text in all the other pages I do not delete THE SAME. Anyone?

Exporting to epub shows a lighter textbox shading than in the .indd I tried to make the shading darker but still not good. I can change the color but to make darker does not show up in the epub see screenshots first is shaded .indd second is the epub result

I placed an entire document into InDesign from Word. Everything looks good except for the paragraph spacing which I will have to re edit the css which I know already. But I have a situation which I do not know how to correct as the .indd will be a flowing text .epub and at the bottom of most pages are footnotes with links. In the word document the paragraphs end at a certain place and I understand that since this is a flowing text .epub the text will not be ending in the same place the word doc did but after looking closely the threaded text goes from page to page but the footnotes remain in the same place zt the bottom of the page. I checked the layers and both the footnotes and main paragraphs are on the same layer. Is there a way to get the footnotes to end where the last paragraph ends like in the word doc? see screenshot of the .indd file the RED text I added in to show that it does not sit BEFORE the footnote as that text skips the footnote and rejoins the thread AFER the footnote, any help?

Ah I see I see as I compiled from the book menu and it worked. The idml files came from the client's folder I compiled those into a .book file thx
