I have a pdf which I need to add pages and text to. I do not have the original document so I have to edit in Acrobat. So, I need to know how to add pages from within Acrobat and I also notice that a lot of text from the pdf in Edit mode comes up as outlines and I need to know if I add font text in between outlined text or on new pages will you see the difference when the doc is printed? plz adive R

For me I found an easier way, I have a pdf copy of the original word doc. I open in Acrobat, go to each page and select all, choose Edit With and choose Illustrator. The entire page opens up in AI and I copy and paste all the elements in one shot right to a new InDesign doc with the same page size. It also leave the background in a layer so I can turn off the layers when I need to line the new text up as the table lines, frame objects are all in the exact place they need to be. I set the margins outside of the elements so none will be placed outside. So now I have the layered file page by page in InDesign but now since most of the text is outlines I need to re create text boxes with the original font. The doc is 68 pages so its a lot of work but the good part is I only see 4 styles I need to use so I will create those in ID and take it form there. If you look at the screenshots the original doc is quite complicated so this way I have what is like a ready made template, now all I add is the text. Thoughts?

This could be a big mess as I agree the margins should be the same for the entire document. My concern here is also when I paste the word doc on the same size paper that is from word there are some elements that do not come over for instance the headers in the TOC. The TOC is only two pages and I will get to that later so I want to concentrate on placing the rest of the styled text from word into the .indd let me see what I get and will reply back.

I have a task ahead of me which is a bit confusing. I need to place a word document inside a new .indd. The page size is 4.08 x 7.08 top and bottom margins vary and so do the left and right margins. My first thought was to look through all 88 pages and write down all the margins then make a master page for each different margin setting, am I right? Or is there a better way. next problem I see is the word doc has some anchored artwork, arrows etc. Below are a few screenshots, its an instruction manual.

There is a bug in CC2018 that Adobe is aware of. The issue has not been fixed so I was instructed to use CC 2017 , since I have 2018 installed can someone let me know how I can re aquire cc2017 until the 2018 bug is fixed? R

I have looked for articles on this and I tried export render video QT format render options alpha channel none and I STILL get a black background I'm exporting from a .psd frame by frame animation create new layer for each new frame plays back fine. ??

I'm in OS 13.2 I was trying to paste a word document into an new InDesign project I hit shift / click and the doc populates the pages fine. But I see some problems with the text (some spaces in the last line of each paragraph are missing ) . The spaces are fine in the original word and after further reviewing I see I had converted the word doc to a docx, so I REPLACED the original word doc in and the spaces are fine but now there are places ( some headings ) and the TOC where each sentence was originally ONE line but now a few are two lines so when I try to correct back it does not return. I double checked all the margins, trim and gutter, they are the same as well as the font and font size. is there something in the import box I missed? Any help?

I have a 80 minute project which contains audio and video. I need to break up the 80 minutes into 4 separate files and render each one. I'm coming from Camtasia but have basic editing experience and I tried to figure out how to do but cannot get the process right. I used the markers and CUT 60 minutes from the timeline so only the first 20 minutes are there, but how can I paste the cut footage into another sequence? anyone? thx R

OK I tried another text only document and it worked fine so the problem is this specific .docx. I did notice there was a conflict in the dialogue box so it must be that , the style name conflict says 1 paragraph 0 character. How do I see what that is? R
