Well the demo I watched was a current version of LR and it was working without having to click to select it again. I'll have to go back and see what was happening...I'm also sure it wasn't ACR.

Ok...I've always thought when using the white balance picker it was weird but just the way it was, everytime I click to pick a spot for white balance the little eye dropper goes back to its little place. If I want to use it again I have to go pick it up again and while fine its a little annoying. Well I saw a demo the other day someone using the eyedropper for white balance in the basic panel. It didn't go back they were able to click and click and click without having to go pick it up again. Then they could just go click to put it away. What is the secret to using the white balance eye dropper this way! Please let me in!

I suppose I don't know what you mean by re booting but I've shut down and restarted since yes... I have not re set my preferences....i'd have to go in and change everything back to the way I want them again right. So I may want to do some work to make sure I remember where everything is currently set to.

I'm one of the nerds that shuts down every time I leave the computer for any length of time...certainly shut it down every night. unless some unusual download is going or something...but yes I have shut down for sure.

All of a sudden my lightroom won't import photos. I click on the import button in the library module and it acts like its going to bring up the import dialogue but nothing ever comes up. I've left it sit for quite a while just to see if there is a lag but nothing. Could this be a result of Mojave? I have successfully imported once I think after updating my OS to Mojave. It just started and I don't know what to do about it?

So this is interesting, as best I can tell I've set my storage system up identical to one of the leading LR educators, and it worked when I first converted and set my system up this way. It has only recently started showing this error message. any thoughts?

I have my catalog set to back up every time I shut down lightroom. This is the way I want it but I have recently gotten the message after it works to back up..."some files can't be synced." I looked and I have plenty of space. Just wondering why some files won't sync and how I know which ones won'g sync. The whole catalog or just part?

It used to be I could use survey mode and look at lets say 5 images. I could click and select individual images and flag them pick if I wanted. I noticed now if I don't X them out and get rid of them before I choose the P key to pick all images get flagged while in survey mode. What changed or what am I doing wrong?

Ok. so after a round robbin of conversation with the company I use for my storage devices, Adobe cust. support, and Canon I have determined it is a bad sensor on the camera and will be returning the camera. Adobe told me there is a known issue with dual pixel raw photos and gave me a site for a work around. Link posted here. I've never used Canon's software before and also never heard it recommended to work around issues. Never the less decided to try it so I downloaded it and opened the files only to find they have the same issue. Called Canon sent them both .cr2 files and .jpg files that were bad and they determined I have a bad sensor. Good thing this is a brand new camera so I can exchange it.

Good suggestion, I'm going out on a shoot right now...I'll try different cards, the cards I have are maybe 1.5 years old or so... The sd card that I was using which is what I imported from first was a brand new sandisk card that was formatted for the first time in the camera. my CF card is a lexar and it had the same issue. I have several of both sd and cf, going out on a shoot now...will report back when finished. Thanks for all your help!

Ok...trying a different usb port with camera cord...but really dumb kind of related question. I have never plugged in the camera directly to the computer this way and for this purpose. I don't see anything to eject. Do I need to eject the camera when un plugging the cord like I would otherwise? Also I did try card reader in different usb and had same issue...I don't have a different computer to try unfortunately.

So here is what I have done up to this point. I have tried importing them and converting to .dng on import. I shoot so both cards mirrored so I tried the other card. They don't show up as bad on either card on the LCD or in the initial import view when you are choosing the options to import them in LR. When I put the cards back in the camera they show fine still when viewing in the back of the camera. Weirdest thing. I use my sd card slot in my mac laptop...and I use a card reader for my cf card having the same issue with both options on both cards. The files that are bad are the same always.

So what are some suggestions to try to begin? I am still at a point that I could send camera back and exchange for a different one. Is it true that native raw files from a 5d M4 are not compatible with LR Classic? I don't even know where to begin on this one! But I do need my camera to and workflow to be dependable.

Are there any known issues with .cr2 files from a 5d M4. I have random files showing up bad and unusable. Just wondering if it is camera or computer or sd and cf card. Canon said possibly Sensor, B&H said nothing wrong with camera and that LR is not compatible with raw files from the 5d M4 which this is the first I've heard that. Also said I need to use .dng if using LR. Also I don't see the issue with the files while viewing on the LCD screen on camera. Seems to only be when importing to LR. My camera is 15ish days old. Wondering if I should just send back and exchange or what to do. thanks.

thepatje, thank for your feedback. I will try to reset Bridge. The folder I'm trying to delete off my favorites, I have tried this solution to right click and choose the option to remove it...thats what sends bridge into the not responding status and then I have to force quit it and re launch it. So hopefully after resetting it will fix the problem.

I work on a Mac...I have a folder that was part of a NAS set up in my favorites section of Bridge. I no longer have any of the files or folders from the NAS but that folder is still in my favorites. I can't just click on it to remove it...anytime I try to do something with it, it just send my computer crazy...Bridge stops responding and I have to force quit and re launch bridge. I think this is causing a host of other problems with my computer also, does anyone know how I could delete this folder? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have purchased a Synology NAS and in the process of rearranging my whole storage system. Everything is up and running the way I want it to and that part seemed to be fairly easy. Synology and its FB user group have been great support. However through this process exporting from lightroom has slowed way down. I didn't change any settings to my catalog that I know of. And I'm still exporting images to an external drive plugged in to my computer so its not like I'm transferring images over my network. What are the possibilities for why my exporting has significantly slowed down? I mean like 20 min for 15 files.

Ok, so this is off topic of droplets, but I have several different .lrcat files in the folder where my current catalog resides. Are they just older versions of the catalog and don't matter. I'm kinda cleaning up my computer and would like to delete these files if I can but don't know. Thanks.

Wondering if I can use Creative Cloud as a backup. I have creative cloud installed on my computer. I don't want to move my folder stored in my documents folder to my creative cloud folder but I want creative cloud to be used as a back up source for that folder is this possible. I can't find this in the preferences of Creative Cloud. Thanks fo your help.
