First of all are you making it Break Point or Fluid box. For break point if you want the text to scale with the image as the image resizes then, import the Photoshop psd into Captivate and flatten the image when you import to Captivate.  Or import Photoshop psd into Captivate with layers. The image and text will have to be positioned independent of each other dependent on the break point. It may be better to use a smart shape or text caption to add the text. In fluid box layout you can use the flatten image as well and text is part of the image. If you bring it in with layers then you could unlock the text layer from the fluid box but it will be image text. You may want to use a smart shape or text caption so it will "reflow" rather than being fixed image text from Photoshop.  ... View more

I really wouldn't recommend adding the audio to your pre-recorded video in Captivate. Use Adobe Premiere where you actually have the capability to edit and synch audio correctly. You will have play back issues when playing the video if you have any bandwidth issues. etc. ... View more

Another work around way to visibly remove the button is to publish to html5 then in the "assets folder > htmlimages folder > ccClose.png" simply remove the ccClose.png from the published folder. This area still stays hot for the mouse but the "graphic x" is removed. ... View more

Yes absolutely agree that you can place one object on top of another and use the motion path. Works well with solid colour backgounds and when there is enough real estate to place the mask object, but of course not always the case.  The flash based widget would do the trick to to create the effect using a mask as well, but again EOL flash.  We can use javascript but "most ID/Captivate users" are not programmers and even find Advanced Actions confusing. However we could learn to use Adobe Animate and create oam's to replace all the richness of the flash content that has been lost with HTML5 and widgets such as the one you noted (but then of course it has its learning curve as well). ... For clarity what do you mean by remediating. Are you referring to what actually gets loaded in the question slide when the content is imported. Here's what I notice is that in your first example above, the first multiple choice question shows that the correct answer is 1 so this should be denoted by an = not a ~. = is used to denote the correct answer in a single answer correct multiple choice question. You indicate you have noted answers in the upper right of the slide. You have discovered the feature I like in Captivate which is can have Advanced Answers to each of the radio buttons or check boxes in a MC Question, not the general response you get with the Submit button. The "#correct answer is 1" is used by Captivate to create a Advanced Answer Option  > Show Feedback Message response to each of the answer buttons as an advanced response. So you will see individual response in the upper right of the slide not in the default response that you get with the submit button. (These Advanced Answers are not written in the canned response area in the Question slide.) If you delete the individual Advanced Answers then Captivate uses the canned response Incorrect press y or click anywhere to continue.  I personally like the individual Advanced Answer Option in multiple choice because you write a custom answer in each of the # entries. What the %25% percent is doing is setting the question to say that all questions are acceptable. The ~ would be in front of the answers indicating they are all correct. This would mean that all responses could be selected. It telling Captivate to check all buttons as being correct - (Captivate term - Multiple responses) I don't really think that is want if you only want one answer correct. The True False looks fine. Again it will generate an Advanced Answer Option >  Feedback Message in the top right corner of the slide because you are saying #correct answer is true. Again you can delete it and get the canned submit message. Just for clarity if you use the Advance Answer you don't get the canned response when you submit. If you delete the Advanced Answer Feedback Message you get the canned Correct or Incorrect when you submit.  Keep working at it. I find this is one of the most useful features in Captivate. This is interesting.  I know I have received this error message when importing a PSD if the channel is set to 16bit for example and is fixed by changing the mode to 8bit as you have done. As a test change the channel to 16bit and save the file. Try importing and you should get the error noted above. Then change the channel to 8bit,  save and retry importing. To date I have not encountered this problem in the classroom when demonstrating this Captivate feature and would love to know if this is a PS file issue or a Captivate issue. ... View more

At one time it appeared Adobe was going to integrate Captivate with other Adobe Tools. The  last eLearning Suite they released eLearning Suite 6 included Captivate, Photoshop, Acrobat, Audition, Flash, Dreamweaver, Bridge and Presenter. Shortly after that they released Creative Cloud which seemed to bring the end of the eLearning Suite product. I like others at the time thought that Captivate would be released as part of Creative Cloud but of course that never happened. It's unfortunate because I taught many students to use the suite tools to enhance their Captivate work by knowing how to use Photoshop, Audition, Flash (now Animate) and Presenter. Dreamweaver was used to fix html output, Browse in Bridge to find files right inside of Captivate etc. Acrobat was great way to package Captivate files in swf format, but of course that will go by the wayside with the death of flash in 2020. It's unfortunate because my belief is that many developers could greatly enhance their skills and their final Captivate output if they were knowledgeable in how to use these tools. No not really but there is some work arounds. The first is you can "import Photoshop layers" into the slide. All your images would be in Photoshop as individual layers. A second is you could import all your images into the Library and have them labelled in sequence. Then select them all using multiple selection technique and drag them onto your slide. They will each have their own "layer" on the timeline. In both cases you will have to time the images to create the animation. You really might want to create an oam file and bring it in from Adobe Animate if you are creating HTML5 output. Based on your further information, you could initially lock the TOC on enter the course and force the learner to use the buttons on your slide to navigate. Once the learner has scored a pass value for your quiz you could unlock the TOC allowing for full navigation. (I am assuming you have a retry on your quiz result slide.) ... View more
