We have the same Acrobat installation version.  Does the red box below show the tools that you are missing? I might try to change the way your Portfolio displays by right-clicking in the file list and changing the way it's presented. Maybe that will trigger the desired tools to come out of hiding. Dave ... Would it be possible to open the portfolio on another computer?  It might help to know if the issue is in the file or the installation.. or an Acrobat bug. I'd check setting in two places: Check your Acrobat Preferences, and see what your default is set to for magnification:   I would also open up one of those scanned PDFs and check the Document Properties/Initial View tab.  Is that 175% baked into one of those settings? I don't have access to a Fujitsu scanner, but if the opportunity to view your scanner software options is available to you before hitting the scan button, I'd poke around to see if your issue is set there. Do you have a File>Print dialog available?  Is the command missing? Press F8 on your keyboard and see if that unhides your toolbar with the print icon (if that's what's missing).  If you use Cmd/Ctrl Print, do you get the print dialog box? Dave ... View more

If you use the PDF Maker (Acrobat ribbon in your Office Apps), you can click Preferences and find the option to turn off the comments conversion option.  I'm not sure if this will affect your situation and solve anything, but it might be worth trying.  Change this setting and create a PDF.  Fingers crossed! You can see and edit the form field's properties by double-clicking on the field with the form edit tool active.  The appearance tab will include font settings.  For font size, there's one there called "auto", which will shrink the type as you ad more and more.  I'm no fan of this feature, but it does what it says.  You can also dial in a fixed size, which I prefer.     My best, Dave ... Over the years, I've seen various version of Acrobat make life simple while inserting videos, and other times have us all pulling our hair out over this.  I just tried to drop a quick MP4 into a PDF, and the process went smoothly... until I tried to play it.  I granted permission in the PDF, and it did nothing.  But on maybe the 8th click, I heard the video's audio play with a static black rectangle showing!  Although I don't have a solution., I can confirm that this feature did not work as it should for me either.  I'll continue to see if I can figure out what's going on, and I'll post something if there's something tangible to share. The text highlighte tool does not highlight text - it creates an arrow in the mouse press, and dragging the mouse (w/ the button still pressed) allows you to specify where the text box (attached to the arrow) will be.  It doesn't highlight the page's text. My best, Dave ... View more

Editing text in a PDF is always a 'dangerous' endeavor.  Although Adobe has built-in text editing tools and capabilities, the very nature of a PDF, and the various ways a PDF is created make text editing success a variable, not a certainty.  All PDFs are different, and two that look identical may in fact be constructed entirely differently under the skin, and their editability will vary.  It may not be possible in your situation and workflow, but it's always preferable to make edits in the source documents, not the PDF - but I know this isn't always possible.  Not a solution for you, but a reality in some cases with PDF technology. No problem.  But your findings might have uncovered an issue with Acrobat.  I opened a PDf from a coffee machine manual I had sitting around.  It has a link on the cover to the company's website.  But when I tried to either edit or remove that link, Acrobat said it removed zero links, and it remained there & active... and uneditable!  I'll do some more experimenting when I have a chance to see if I can find what's going on.
