I just tried it on my installation (the most up-to-date release), and it functioned properly. The very first thing I'd recommend is to check for an update and insure you have the latest and greatest. I'm running 2022.003.20263. If yours is up to date, I'd then give a Repair Installation a try. I don't know if your re-installation was done by a local installation file, or by downloading from the cloud... but checking for an update might be worth it, even though you've gone through the mill with cleaner, reinstall, etc. My best, Dave

I'm more than curious as to what the variable is that has this glitch show up for some, and not for others. I cannot reproduce this on my system/installation, while others, with the same release, see it. There are some many things in play, I guess - video drivers, hardware... no matter, they have to get this ironed out. Dave

I just tried to format multiple form fields at once by selecting the fields, right-clicking and choosing Properties, made my choices... and all fields were successfully formatted identically. Can you describe your process? I'll try to reproduce your process to see how if turns out, but I was able to do it with my sample form. Dave

I agree with the other commenters. Flip books can come across as a cool way to browse a PDF - but they have been created outside of the Adobe software world (3rd party apps), and relied on the now-defunct Flash technology. Dave

To Try67's point, this ad appears to be for a PDF viewer/editor program (PDF Pro), NOT ACROBAT PRO DC. There are quite a few well-known (and pretty good) applications that do much of what Acrobat Pro DC can do. I've never found one that is as competent all around, personally. Adobe created the PDF format, and handles it better than the others (opinion), but they allow other applications by other companies to view and edit PDFs too. Dave

Perhaps assigning a language to your PDF may help, if there is not one designated. Go to File>Properties. Then click on the Advanced tab. There, you can select the appropriate language, and that might "enable" the appropriate characters. I hope this works for you! Dave

If your Acrobat Pro version was up to date, you would/should have the Acrobat ribbon (plugin) show up at the top of your Word interface, and that ribbon contains (in my opinion) the most accurate and reliable method of converting a Word doc to PDF. It existed w/ Acrobat 8 also, but with Acrobat 8 trying to interface with Microsoft 365 comes this issue, I believe. Is there a chance of upgrading to the current Acrobat Pro DC? I suspect it would solve your problem (and cost money as well - I get it). Dave

Oh, and if the Acrobat ribbon is available in Word, be sure to visit the Preferences button and hit all the tabs - ensuring that all footnotes, links, etc. are ticked. Dave

I'm sure you know that Acrobat 8 is very out of date. That said, many of us try to recreate these issues in order to find a possible solution. Unfortunately, I doubt there are too many people with Acrobat 8 at hand to try to recreate the problem. Can you share the file so others can try it with their installed versions of the software? If the current Acrobat version yields the same result as you, it could point to a problem with the Word doc itself, not Acrobat. Dave

You'd have to do any PDF editing work in Acrobat Pro DC, not Reader. One method you might try (and it has its shortfalls) is to do screenshots of the different states of the slide build, and create the PDFs from them. Not ideal, but it may work for some uses. Dave
