When I look at recent files, I get this: There is no way to adjust the columns so I can see the whole file name despite having lots of room. What am I doing wrong?

I'm using the comments page for an edit. There are three dots where the page number is supposed to be. There is no special page numbering. The PDF was created using the Adobe plug-in for Microsoft Office. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand your suggestion and thank you. It's a nice workaround. I would like to know why trying to find the words "combination switch" returns the word cover. If I put quotes around the phrase it returns nothing. But if I then remove the quotes, it finds the phrase straight-away. Odd behavior. Thanks for your time!

Hi Jane, Thanks! I'm using Find. I'm assuming you're talking about Ctrl+Shift+F "Advanced Search" which searches multiple documents. Not sure which settings you're referring. But I'll send if you tell me which setting you're reffering to.

I am currently searching for the words "combination switch" - sans quotation marks in a PDF file using Acrobat DC. The first thing Acrobat found was the seven instances of the word "cover." It would be hilarious if it wasn't slowing down my work flow. If I use a program like Foxit on the exact same document. . . no problems. Any help or ideas out there? Thanks in advance!

Thanks JJMack, I use Photoshop lightly but Illustrator a lot. I am aware of using the properties options in windows to change how program windows are scaled. It does work, for a little while but eventually you'll move the program window between two unequal monitors and the bottom of the window will extend past the bottom of the screen. Then you have to go back to properties, try every possible scaling combination until you get the bottom of the window to show again and at some random time in the future it will happen all over again. I occasionally design UIs for internal and client use. Every once in a while I come across a programmer who tries to save a couple of hours of programming time and skip adding a needed feature. After the application is released, hundreds or thousands of clients complain that they have to spend ten extra minutes with the app because my programmer saved himself a couple hours. It seems obvious to me the programmer would save the company many hours of time by spending the few hours to design the UI correctly in the first place. If Adobe allowed used to resize the program window from the top border, all of these threads would be unnecessary. Thanks for reading!

I am using a Microsoft Surface (2736x1824) with a second 4k (3840x2160) monitor. No matter what I do, I cannot get the bottom of the Adobe Illustrator window to show up on either screen. I think it must be touching the floor. I will make a product suggestion that Adobe allow resizing of the program windows from the top border. Until then, does anybody else have this issue? And if so, have you found a solution? Thanks, Rick

If it was bestowed on you by Adobe, they probably don't realize you are only chasing people away from their products. If you work for Adobe, they need a new HR director.

Interesting you'd say that because I just created an animation using the HTML5 wrapper in Animate. The only output it allows is Javascript/HTML. Can you point me to a tutorial on the Adobe web site or the web where I might learn the process? I've used google and other search tools trying to find tutorials regarding the process with no luck.

Appreciate your taking the time to respond. Needless to say, I'm looking for an alternative workflow. The link you refer to says: Converting Office or HTML to PDF with embedded rich media (non-Flash content) will continue to be supported. Animate makes HTML5 animations but not without Java. Does anybody know if there is there a way to add these html/java animations into a PDF? The alternativeI have at this point is to make the animations in PowerPoint and hand out my source files. I don't likee the alternative, but at least I won't have to pay for an Adobe subscription anymore. . . .

Does anybody know if I'll be able to use shockwave flash files from Animate in Adobe PDF documents after the end of the year. I have a boatload of interactive (mostly stop and continue) animations I currently place in PDF training books. Wondering how I'm going to create these books if flash goes away. I have to admit to some confusion regarding what will happen after flash becomes obsolete. I teach and develop training and use powerpoint with embedded flash files for interaction. I output the presentation to PDF and then place the animations in the PDF using Acrobat. I suppose I'll have to migrate to captivate and start using powerpoint animations instead (yuck) but I'm hoping tI'll figure out other options as I research this more thorougly. However, the confusion is related to folks who keep saying to use HTML5 and Java to create animations. It won't be long until browsers no longer support Java as it's an even worse security risk than Flash. What's a developer to do? My guess is that Captivate outputs animations as either shockwave or java as well so Captivate doesn't seem like the long-term solution. What's a content developer to do?

I have a surface pro 6. When I try to size the Illustrator program window. When I click on the restore button, the bottom of the window moves past the bottom of the screen. Because the Illustrator window cannot be sized from the top, it looks like I will never see the bottom portion of the Illustrator widow unless I maximize it. One more bit of info, I'm using a dual-monitor setup and the resolution of the monitors are unequal. Has anyone seen this issue before? Has anyone solved the issue? Thanks in advance for your input!

We are moving from print to electronic books, so I am now working in pixels rather than an 8.5x11 space. I created a Photoshop template that is 950x625 pixels and also created an Illustrator template artboard of the same size. When I place the Photoshop image in the illustrator doc, it doesn't fill up the artboard. I suppose I could change back to inches in Illustrator and do the math so the image would fit but it seems the image should exactly fit the artboard. Does anybody have any suggestions regarding what I might be doing incorrectly? Thanks!

Agreed! I can't make a document that looks as good. However after explaining how much money could be saved, my client was okay with the slight degradation in quality. If I suggested customers are to blame for the bugs, my bad. However, it seems to me that continuing to support Adobe makes us enablers.

I say move on. I have migrated my e-book creation to PowerPoint. This actually increased my productivity and eased my clients' insecurity around a program they're not comfortable with as "everyone" knows PowerPoint (not that Microsoft doesn't have issues on their own). I am currently learning programs like "freeware starts with a G" and "freeware starts with an I". Definitely not as fully featured as Creative suite but so far, they do what I need. Once I find a replacement for Animate, my subscription will be done. I don't expect Adobe will allow this post to stay up for very long but let's face it, if Adobe's programmers had any skill (and it didn't create problems with their cloud model), this problem would be fixed already. The problem is a combination of the two. I understand not everybody can do this, but until people start an exodus, you're the graphics equivalent of a Detroit Lions fan.
