I just finished mastering my audio and the exported files bears no resemblance to the audio in ppro on playback. The mastering effect is not being sent to export. Heres my my mixer: (I tested this with the effects switched off - pictured - the output sounded identical to the rendered file.) I have tried rendering just the audio, rendering with ppro, and with media encoder. This used to work fine pre cc2017

I notice this thread is marked answered. SO the answer is: "uninstall and reinstall the 2 programs that are causing the issue". Is that Adobe's approved solution? Multiply that by the rest of the creative suite. Add in the shambolic management of plugins and presets... I still look back at photoshop 5 (yes not CS5). As the high-point of Adobe. When the software was most usable, most stable. Since then there has been a gradual slide to bling over substance. rant grumble

I read this before installing ppro2017, then forgot about it, spent 2 hours getting all my plugins updated and working, and issues with old media sorted and now I've just realised I also have this issue. One day adobe will do an update that wont cost me hours of farting around. If anyone has a suggestion for getting this working without uninstalling ppro, I'm all ears.

Well its still not working, I did take a screen cap. is it possible that if photoshop is still saving a doc that the droplet wont be able to communicate? my output files are 550-700 MB each.

Were you doing anything else whilst it was exporting? So my raws tend to have quite a lot stuff going on - blurry edges and noise reduction - hence the time. I'll screencap the next time I run a batch (and of course it'll work fine I bet). 🙂

Not fixed. Droplet in export preset processes about 1/2 to 2/3 of the files requested but gives the droplet cannot connect error message. 2015.5.1, photohop, bridge, camera raw all up to date.

Yep I wont go near extensis again, they run roughshod over your system. I spent 3 or 4 hours trying various font managers yesterday and I ended up where I started. Here's why: Fontbase: beta software, looks lovely could be great but buggy and doesn't seem to actually do much at the moment Nexus font: simple but very slow (i've got about 6000 and it would read all of them each time you switch views). Uninstalled it pretty quick Font explorer x pro: version 3.5 I had high hopes but gee it looks dated. Same baby blue colour as outlook 2007 complete with pixelly rounded corners. (This is software for designers, up your game folks!) I also found it slow. It crashed at one point. maintype: 5.1 (currently on 6): Much quicker than the rest, stable. They should get a slap on the wrists though for advertising it with adobe auto activation as a feature- so long as you're using CS6 or below. They hide the fact that they dont support it in CC. Main problem I've found is that activated fonts do not appear in premiere - I have to restart premiere to see them. This is the thread: fonts not available in premiere - Font Forum Someone from maintype answered quickly - great! (The answer is not great but at least they answered!!) Fontagent pro: I noticed they dropped the version number - because they don't develop it anymore. Its version 4. I used it for a few years, ditched it because the auto-activation stopped working, then got increasingly fed up with their tech support and lack of development. TypeDNA: I didn't bother installing this this time around. I had great hopes for this a few years ago, but seeing as the website still lists it as compatible with "windows 7, vista and xp" I didn't bother. I wrote to them asking if it was windows 10 compatible (which was actually just a foil for seeing if anyone was at home: guess what? no one was). So in summary nothing has changed since I wrote this 3 years ago: woeful state of font management on windows Maintype is the only one I would consider at the moment - and forget about auto-activation. Its not that pretty but it works very solidly and is actively developed at least.

So there is no software currently that does auto-activation on windows? What a woeful mess. We've gone backwards since windows xp and CS2. I had a quick look at font explorer x but it has half the functionality of its mac counterpart and costs the same. I've messed around with type DNA, but not sure if its still developed. Anyone tried it recently?

thanks jesse, I should say that the original post was in 2013, since then PP has become much more stable, but I do still get occasional crashes. I haven't checked the error logs. I will and if its still the msvcr I'll do as suggested!.

So where is it? I thought It was supposed to be in cc and not in 6.1. I have CC on my laptop and my desktop and neither have dehaze. I have a collegue who also has cc and also doesnt have it. Is there some arcane ritual I need to perform in order to switch it on?

logging into my files on ie on windows phone gives a whole lot of nothing. Just a blank page. one drive, dropbox, google drive all work fine. whilst I'm at it, uploading files to creative cloud today east coast Australia was slow and eventually failed. is it flaky everywhere or just in aus?

I dont agree bob: I often want a handful of tools on a set of images. A big brush at a low opacity with a specific preset applied, a specific grad, a small brush with a different preset and auto masking turned on. Constantly changing presets when shifting from grad to brush, changing size and opacity is a big workflow slower. I guess it depends on the way you work and what style of photography you do. I don't worry about it so much when I'm working on landscape stuff because its a slower more considered workflow; but for my bread and butter I need to quick. Also your grad idea would only work if all the develop panels were included in a grad preset. Theres no reason why my 2 presets one image couldn't include camera calibration and tone curve... I also dont see this as bloat - I've worked in photoshop for years and the fact I can apply this stuff in the raw data is what keeps me in Lightroom.

tool presets as in presets that not only specify the develop preset but which tool they apply to. I imagine a llittle pallette where you can drop a brush of a certain size that's set to a specific preset and set to auto mask. re my 2 preset idea: It would have to exclude crop, lens corrections and process version. But lets not get hung up on the details! there's a school of retouching that aims to produce lots of variations quickly and blending the results. I like to work like this but blending them in PhotoShop is slow. Averaging out each slider should be pretty straightforward. Something similar is going on when you click and drag an edit pin to reduce or increase the effect of a brush or grad. Over to the boffins

2 major things I'd love to see: one easy and one not so - 1) Modifier on paste so that you can select which process items get pasted (rather than just on copy) because sometimes you have something in your clipboard that works for everything but you may want to eg preserve white balance on a particular shot 1.5) On that not a quick clipboard or scrapbook allowing you to hold a couple of recent copies to hand. 1.5a) I'd like to be able to have tool presets - because I often want the same brush with each pick and the same grad but necessarily the same preset for brush AND grad 2)The fun one: I'd like to be able to apply 2 develop presets to an image. How many times have you applied a develop preset and thought - thats good but a theres just a bit too much of it. Easy to fix in photoshop - you just adjust the opacity of an effect (adjustment layer or group). It should be possible to do the same in LR without creating pixel outputs and adding over the top.

I'd like them to train their basic lens adjustment algorithms on some interior images. Or offer us a tool similar to the straighten tool that lets you draw 2 lines on edges that should be straight and parrallel and bobs your uncle. Arguably quicker than clicking on auto, vertical, clicking off, going to the manual pallette farting around with fiddly sliders (I do a lot of straightening interior shots. Can you tell?)

Well I fixed it myself if anyone has the same issue. And this page is rubbish: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cant-install-acrobat-aam.html I exited the CC app, then I deleted some.gz log files that were here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers I also went through and renamed a bunch of acrobat folders that were left on the system in C:\Users\**USER**\AppData\local C:\Users\**USER**\AppData\localLow and left the one in roaming alone. Then restarted cc app the the option to install acrobat was there. Cant tell you which one of these was necessary - suggest you try one at a time.

I had 2 instances of acrobat installed - the same version. I un-installed one, left preferences. Acrobat then failed to run, I then uninstalled the other in order to re-install via the creative cloud app. But that is telling me its up to date. (And now I need it urgently of course). How do I force it to reinstall?

Its not as bad as it was for me now. I get occasional crashes but especially before the windows 8.1 update it was pretty good. Try updating windows and make sure you're using the most recent version. Try deleting your premiere media cache (Google it).

I STILL think we need this feature. The upright corrections often fail with interiror shots, which actually makes the process longer on the whole - often I will click on basic, click on auto, click on vertical, then click on off, click on manual and do the lens corrections. OY!

Chris, I would happily trade the occasional file being saved as PSB that is under 2gb, for the wasted time forgetting to set a 4gb file to psb that fails to save. To make a photoshop guestimate: look at the bottommost pixel layer find the compressed size of that, multiply that by the number of pixel layers, add the ballpark for the number of mask layers and what not. If the answer is over 1.5gb, and someone tries to save as PSD pop up a box in the save as dialogue that says "you might want to save this as a PSB".
I also admit I dont know about the differences in psb and psd file structure. But I can tell you that there will be more and more photographers facing this issue as 30+MP cameras become the norm. It doesn't take many layers in a 16bit 36mp image to get to 2GB
It may be time to look at that file size limit. And please include a full or half-res jpeg preview inside PSD and PSB that bridge can read.

Asus p6td deluxe i920 (overlocked a wee bit). 12gb super duper ram (geil 7-7-7-something) 240gbSSD (sandisk Ultra). Footage was on a single wd 2tb Black drive. (Many other drives in system though including raid 5, 5x2tb on areca controller). Scratch disks all as default though. Corsair 860PSU 2GB GTX660 (yes I know, but it worked flawlessly on ppro cs6). Yes using mercury. I was doing different things, one of them I was using a nested clip that was behaving strangely - time remapping was on but when I nested the clip it was doubling the size of the nested clip. Source footage for that particular clip was a photoshop generated MP4, otherwise MOVs froma nikon d800. Whirlpool forum in Aus has a public member section where you can list hardware might be handy for these forums? Just a suggestions.
