Suddenly double-clicking on another PDF whilst one is open won't work. Another day another bug. My main edit sequence: I have my in and out points set ready for render. Recently the points have been jumping to near the start  = 3 second exports 🤦 I thought this was probably me accidentally hitting x when I had a clip selected, so i removed that shortcut from x.  It just happened again, so I reset my out point, rendered it, then went to check keyboard shortcuts, but when I exited keyboard shortcuts I saw the out point jump to near the start!  I hit undo and it went back to the end!  WTH?  It is reproducible.  So to test I simply did a different action (double clicked an audio click to load it into source) and yep - apparently any action will get it to move both points - presumably to some value set either earlier or somewhere else. Before I report this bug, can anyone tell me if there is a setting or something somewhere that might cause this to happen? ... View more

Is there a way to get nested sequences to inherit the label colour of the clip you're nesting? Failing that, can you make all nested sequences in a bin have a label colour by default? all of a sudden today bridge wont open PSDs in photoshop. All of the image formats now say use explorer settings. Which is just marvelous because my explore settings are to open picture formats in bridge. Not only that, but photoshop isn't even available in the dropdown, meaning I have to manually navigate to photoshop.exe for all my image formats. And about that. Why not group all the sodding picture formats? There is free software that does this.   Why am I so cranky? BEcause dear adobe  - this isn't what you'd expect of a billion dollar company, but mostly because its endemic to every bit of software you make, and multiply it by 5 apps and there isn't a week that goes by without trying to fix or workaround a bug like this.   ... I have a preset that contains 2 lumetri effects with mask paths.   I edit this path into a new shape, animate it, and then copy the mask to the other lumetri effect. Save the project and when I open it the mask is missing.  This has now happened twice and today it represents about 2-3 hours of wasted work.  All of my backups and auto-saves exhibit the same feature: no mask.  Windows 11 22h2  PPRO 23.6.2 Note - I just tested this and was able to reproduce the bug once, but not twice yay I applied a blank lumetri effect (preset) to a 5k DJI mp4 sequence that contained a nested sequence which contained the  clip playing at -100% (ie reversed).  I added the mask, animated it. I saved the project, closed premiere, re-opened premiere and loaded the project. The first 2 keyframes were remembered, but the final one was not saved.      ps I use it to  create a stroke on a layer because of premiere's on-going CUDA time-remapping bug (a bug that is so old it now outdates at least one version of this forum, and 2 adobe bug reporting platforms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoUYqRoHXEo)     ... Taking several minutes to generate. Sometimes I can stop it and start it again and it will generate how it used to (mostly not).  I've been playing with Leonardo   - with its live canvas feature - you make changes to the input and it updates instantly.   I was raving about generative fill. I felt like it was the first revolutionary feature Adobe has added to photoshop in over 20 years.  Right now its pants   Am I alone in this? Does it get processed locally or sent to the cloud? I've been using premiere for long enough that I know its moods. There's a few things it does that I now understand but mostly don't. I thought it would be fun to coral those things in one post, so please add your own, or explanations or workarounds.     1. Where are all the things? Grey thumbnails - premiere just seems to have had enough of generating thumbnails and needs a bit of a lie-down.  This is because premiere gets confused with all those bins.  It's really old, so I can forgive a bit of absent-mindedness.  Solution: close all the bins except one* (*when I say solution I mean it sometimes works, if it feels like it) This one is also responsible for... Reveal in project  - greyed out (clip on a timeline) & Reveal sequence in project - greyed out (or your shortcuts no longer working) Replace with clip > from bin - greyed out   2. No Cigar Changing the speed of a clip on the timeline to eg 200% creates a clip on the timeline at 197.22% or other weirdly not 200% number. (No solution)   3.  Monitor N@zi* Workspaces - premiere will remember where everything is, except your bins on the other monitor. They must always go with effects on the first monitor. Always! No extra monitor for you!  *Seinfeld reference, don't ban me.  (No solution) 4. Wave goodbye to waveforms Some projects PR really can't be bothered generating waveforms. Or if it does they appear for a bit and then *puff* they're gone like a caribou.  Zoom in? Gorn!  Then you play the will-they-won't-they game to see if they re-appear.    Clearing the cache seems to help for a bit, but I suspect this is down to one piece of media that premiere doesn't like - because it will happily work fine in one project but not another.  One thing I haven't tried is creating a new project and importing the old into it lock stock and barrel.   ... Pan and scanning by changing the position/scale and rotation - very smooth. DOing it with the transform effect - juddery and awful. Useful for popping animations on and off the screen with motion blur. Hopeless for smooth small motions.  I've assumed for years that the motion effect simply doesn't have sub pixel movement or the precision of changing the motion properties,  but it only just occurred to me that it could be a bug.  Is it as designed, or do I have an issue?   ... Podcast ai was good enough to allow me to change my workflow.  In the last month? or few weeks, something has changed.  It's not usable professionally anymore, in fact I struggle to see the point of it.  I now have the ignominity of having to tell my clients "hey you know that great software that meant you didn't have to come to the studio any more, yeah well now you you do".  Current quality has what sounds like compression artifacts and and the sort of swirly dynamics with sources that have been over denoised.     Could someone from adobe please tell us how and what has changed, and the probability that the previous quality will be restored?    Mod note: Please do not use profanity in this forum. It's unbelievably annoying. Bridge>tools> Photoshop missing after Beta update. timeline:show audio time units...  I always thought that premiere would simply default to the nearest frame for setting the in/out for a whole project, but was just zoomed right in on the timeline and saw it was not.  My assumption then was that it would simply start and end from the nearest whole frame, but now I'm wondering if it's not set to start at a whole frame that it does some janky frame resampling (frame sample/frame blending)? Rendering an edit I have music on track one, set to type: music. Generated keyframes, nothing else applied. I have mastering switched on with a low pass and "make room for vocals". This is the setup I've used for years.  3 hours later I'm still trying to get it to export.   It's not rendering track one.  I've tried: a different wav file in track one, that didn't work either - so the issue is probably with the tracks.  ditching cache and cached files, render and replace, I've ditched track one completely. Track 2 appeared to work fine, even with everything copied to it exactly - tried a small section - it worked. Rendered the whole thing and not only did it render broken - with something that sounded like ring modulation and weirdly warbly - but the track in premiere subsequently sounded like that too. Wth? The individual files sounded files sounded fine.   I have tried switching the audio hardware to "no input" (but grasping at straws because other music in the edit renders fine).  OK so just about to post this and I got a successful render by moving everything to another track. I have deleted the original track one, but it appears that premiere hates the new track one, too. 🤷 Now the question is whether I need to worry about this or just rename track one as "closed for maintenance" in case I need to return to the edit.   ...
