I've just wasted most of a day farting around with rolling back a project to cc2017, testing and whatnot, to discover I cant use cc2017 either (becasue it cant handle GH5 10bit files). I cant use proxies, because I pan and scan, and interpret footage.  So I've decided to manually create my own proxies. This is the workflow I was thinking of. Would welcome thoughts (I'm on windows, BTW) 1. export source footage as 4k quicktime cineform - quality 1 (this format allows me to match source for size and frame rate whereas dnx does not, but am open to suggestions) 2. Import into project in a proxy folder 3. interpret footage, edit as usual 4. At the end of edit delete proxy footage, let premiere find originals. not sure how this will play with the originals being .mp4 files 5. render I'm hoping any warp stabilisation and time remapping I do in the edit will not be affected. ... Usually with a new release performance issues are ironed out by the first update.  I'm starting to see previews of CC2019, and editing 4k footage is still a nightmare. I was happily editing on the last version of premiere.  I can't use proxies (because they dont support interpreting footage), I'd have to transcode everything. Can anyone who frequently frequents this board say whether this is a general problem, or is it a select few who are suffering? Footage will play without dropping frames for a while, but when I scrub PP often just stops updating the window.  Poor thing, if you leave it for 5-10 seconds it gets it's breath back and you can then play on from that point. This would be more bearable if the CC2017 version hadn't worked.  But it did, now it doesn't. (ps 5820k, 64gb ram, gtx1080ti, footage on nvme, drive, cache on ssd system drive). EDIT: Tested the same media in cc2017 and yes playback vastly better, no dropped frames at full res, scrubbing better, much reduced wait time after scrubbing. ... View more

If I nest it, its OK. But that utterly defeats the purpose: I'd be better in the old title tool, at least I gives me a background.  I've checked CPU usage and doesn't seem to spike.  The timeline in question has loads of tracks, but its just as useless when I move the title off to the end where there is no other video present. Why is this? I'll render previews before signing off for the night, next morning open the project and they're mostly gone. There doesn't appear to be any correlation between what keeps it's previews and effects or transitions. Anyone else find this or is it just me? ... View more

I think even Microsoft do a better job of using the cloud to keep things synced and to make new installs easy.  And if you're behind microsoft - geez, you've got problems. If I want to keep my actions synced between photoshop desktop and laptop I have to export them each time and re-import?  really? ANd actions are not even included in the presets manager.  If photoshop was at v1 or 2 I could understand this, but I've been complaining about how crap adobe products are at syncing and with new installs for 15 #%^$! years. ... Anyone have an words of wisdom?. Price difference of $800 AUD argh! My last gtx 970 4gb was hopeless with premiere, the gtx 1080 has been a lot more stable (Which i put down to the amount of memory, rather than anything else).
