Dear all, I am working on a group of raw files and I made a bunch of edits to the file, loved it and saved it as a preset. As I went on working on the files I tried to replicate the effect without using the preset to figure out exactly what I loved about the effect on these particular files. I made two copies of the raw file without any edits and applied the preset I loved to one, then manually tried line by line to replicate the effect on the other file. I copied everything one by one. EVERYTHING. Several times. And the files always end up looking very different. I spent over 2 hours on Adobe support today and no one could help me or really even figure out what I was trying to say (which is not commonly my experience on Adobe Support). I am so stumped. AND yes I made sure to copy all HSL and color grading edits. I'm attaching here the preset I want to be able to manually recreate and a preset of what the settings are when I manually recreate every setting. I'd appreciate any help.. For the record I went back and did all my PS work over. I tried and tried and there was no way to match the color I was getting with the custom camera profile. As I mentioned it is usually the first thing I do and I just messed up because this project was gigantic and I had my mind on other things. But I whole heartedly agree with D Fosse below. As an artwork photographer as well, there is no substitute to the custom camera profile to match the colors in a work from the get go. To make matters worse this was video based artwork with really saturated colors. I would never bother with this on my other work unless there was a reason, but I have not come across that yet. I find Canon color out of the camera too saturated and very heavy on the green and yellow. I am a color novice. If anyone has advice or can point me in the right direction with that I'd be most appreciative. In the meantime, thanks everyone for weighing in. If it matters, I spent a couple hours on the phone with an adobe tech trying to reverse engineer this and it did not work.

Hi Everyone, I usually take an image with a color checker and run it through the Color Checker Camera Calibration software and it builds a custom color profile that shows up in LR (Classic). I unfortunately opening my file in PS before doing this and did too much work to go back. Is there any way to apply the custom color profile to a tif in PS or LR? Thanks! PS 23.4.1 LR 11.4 Mac 12.4

I only want two panels in this workspace. I would want the line dividing folders and thumbnails way over to the left, and the thumbnails a larger, medium size so they are actually distinguishable. I've attached an example.

Hi Gary, That didn't work for me. For some reason that screen I attached is the default. I've also tried modifying and saving the workspace again, as well as renaming the workspace to something that doesn't exist. It always comes back the the weird dividing line in the middle and the teensy thumbnails...

Hi All, I'm trying to keep certain settings from workspace to workspace in Bridge. For example, whenever I open my 'normal' saved workspace I get the attached workspace where the thumbnails are tiny and 'divider line' between the left and the right is way over to the right. I keep that line closer to the left and have my thumbnails much larger. This used to be 'sticky' but I can't seem to make it work anymore. Thanks! Mac os 12.3.1 Bridge 12.0.1.246

The problem is I have profoto monolights and it's pretty tough to get the film on them without melting it. I'd need to buy reflectors for all of them (..very expensive). And then, I usually use shoot through umbrellas which I couldn't use with reflectors since they don't make the lights the way they used to make them. So how would I be able to work this out? I've been trying to figure this out for many many years. I shoot artwork all the time. I have for about 20 years.

Hi Everyone,
I have spectral highlights from lighting an extremely textured painting on location. I'm trying to find a way to reduce those highlights without actually altering the painting too much or taking away from it's texture. I've mostly tried to work on it using the clone stamp on 'darken'. Not sure if there is a better way.

I also wonder if this would be fixable by targeting the luminance levels and adjust color temp that way? I'm not sure how to do that or if it would be possible.

I actually had done that to the original along with like 6 masks over the ceiling and floor to brighten it up. It doesn't look that different to me then the one I worked on. I guess I'm trying to figure out if there would be a better way than that to make the room brighter but not blow up the works. OR to shoot during the day and target the color temperature problem which would not only be on the work but spill over to where you see the light a little hot.

Hi Everyone, I've written in about this before but never really gotten an answer. I shoot art galleries. Usually they are 'contained' white box rooms with no daylight leaks and even-ish lighing. I've come upon a problem where I am shooting a makeshift gallery that is also a storefront. It has a full long wall of floor to ceiling windows. There is no other artificial lighting in the room outside of the spots on the artwork which is mostly just 2d on walls. I've been shooting the space after sundown to avoid any color temperature issues but the room turns out looking super dark with very hot spots on the walls where the artwork is. I've been able to process a bit to make it look a little better but it's still not great. I'm wondering if : A. I should shoot during the day and try to correct the blue color cast thats everywhere, or B. Try to shoot at night, and splice over and underexposed images together. Please bear in mind I have tried both of these and so far they just give me a headache and don't look that great. I really want to make these better. I import raws into LR and open in Ps for a little extra help. It would be great to just do this all in LR but I don't know if thats possible. Any suggestions are appreciate. I have been doing this a long time and know what I'm doing but am a bit stuck in getting to a better solution here. I've attached some samples with the artwork PS'd out for legal reasons. I am trying to sort raw files from two different cameras by date created to make a timeline and rename that way. Why won't it do it? They are two different types of raw files (sony and canon) but the exif for the date/time is correct. I saw others having the same sort of problems on this forum, but no solution....Has anyone figured this out? bridge 12.0.1.246

As you will see from that example the shadows were in fact minimal but not enough for my client. Problem is selecting the artwork. My hopes were that there was a way to target the shadows without selecting artwork.

The problem is the edges of the piece in question. You can't really tell from the image I pasted in but the edges of the artwork were not even close to straight lines. I did a quick select but then had to fix it which took quite some time.

I agree Nancy, and all efforts were made but unfortunately there was no way to shoot this without producing shadows, that wouldn't also produce a good amount of glare. Sometimes post is the only way.

I was in a warehouse so there was no ceiling for 30'. Unfortunately it seems like even with all of the updates in PS and LR, you still have to do it the old fashioned way and take an extraordinary amount of time to outline the work and clone it out very carefully. If there is any gradiation in the white of the wall or texture to the wall it's tough to make it look right.

Unfortunately I can't post the actual artwork for legal reasons but heres a screenshot with it grayed out. The shadows aren't too bad but once you get up close it's a different story.

Hi Everyone, I have a question I hope will be simple. I have artwork that I shot on a white wall and I need to eliminate the shadows around it. Given that all whites were not created equal and that there are minimal differences in texture and color temp the white would there be a way to sample a couple of spots and load a brush or something to get rid of the shadows easily ? Is there a better way to do this? Also, the artwork isn't perfectly square so I can use object selection to get a decent selection but then I get that weird jagged line up against it. Should I contract my selection? If I feather I fear the white will 'leak' onto the artwork. I've been doing this a long time but I feel like there has to be an easier/better way with all of the advancements in PS lately. Hi all, I saw some old posts in Bridge discussions about geotagging but I hope there is something a little more updated out there. I know how to geotag in LR classic using a gpx file but it doesn't seem to show up for me in bridge. Is there a way to geotag in Bridge? or a way for the LR geotag to show up in Bridge? Hi All, I shot 2 simple one minute videos on my Canon 5ds using the settings FHD 29.97P IPB. I made no color adjustments. I shot the video vertically of an art piece that was vertical so I did rotate the video 90 degrees. I muted the sound and did nothing else. Upon export the video's color is very muted and seems unsharp, much more so than the original. I also tried this in Final Cut with the same results. Is there an export setting I am messing up? I am not sure what setting to use for 'source'. Something else perhaps? Thank you, Mac 11.6 Premiere Rush 2.0
