It may be too late to get useful information out of this question since you've started troubleshooting already, but I'll ask anyway: Did you change (or allow to be changed) anything on your system just before Pr suddenly stopped working? If so, undoing that change may put things right again.   Regardless, try this: Launch Pr from a shortcut (taskbar, start menu, Desktop) while holding down the Shift+Alt keys.  Alt resets prefs and Shift clears plugin cache. Keep the keys pressed until the main program window appears. Before trying to open any project or starting a new one, go to Preferences>Media Cache and delete *all* your media cache files. You can't capture and edit with Pr. You can't capture and edit with Final Cut Pro X. FCPX won't even let you click outside the import window until you tell it to stop capturing. I assume the same is true for other NLEs, but I have no first-hand knowledge.  You can, however, capture with one program and edit with another. I capture with FCPX and edit with Pr because Pr on a Mac can't capture footage via FireWire any more. So far it's been stable doing both at the same time.   I've also used Lifeflix, but it has huge issues with time/date stamps if you manage the footage outside of Lifeflix. If you've made your corrections in a separate sequence, you can add the corrected sequence to your main sequence just like it was any other clip. I recommend putting it on a different track so you can easily make adjustments. Pay attention to track targeting when you add the corrected sequence. If all you need is corrected audio, you can choose to either add just the audio of the corrected sequence to your main sequence, or once the corrected sequence is added to the main sequence, you can unlink the audio and video of the corrected sequence and remove the video portion. ... At the risk of wandering too far off-topic, maybe DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs will make a comeback with newer generations just like vinyl did. There's something about placing a record on a turntable and holding that LP jacket in your hands that cannot be duplicated by digital media. I think the same may one day be said about streaming media.   In addition, once the disc is in your hand, no change in licensing can take away your ability to play it (RIP Divx). Do I understand that you tried the same physical files on disk that you had used in earlier versions without issue?   If so, please try deleting *all* your media cache files. Do it before opening a project, which means you'll have to launch Pr from a shortcut, not by double-clicking a project file.  Then start a brand-new project. Do your normal import/interpret thing and see if you get errors in the new project.  If no errors occur, then you may be able to import your old project into a new one and proceed from there.  ... Great advice, Warren. I have re-captured 50 of my 65 DV tapes. And all 22 of my analog 8mm tapes. Some were captured for clients and family years ago, but many were not. Many of those client captures were deleted after a year.
