It still stands that pixels and not ppi are screen units, but you should know how Acrobat is viewing the files. I rarely use Acrobat, so thanks for enlightening me. Good to know.

How would you do the same in Lightroom? I can't find "File > Scripts > image processor" on Lightroom. I would like to export images on Lightroom at their original dpi (the dpi of the imported image) instead of all images being exported at the dpi that I set in Lightroom's export options. You would select the image(s) in rhe Lightroom Library, and click Export. Unless you want them all at the same ppi, you would have to set the ppi for each image in the export dialog, and export one file at a time. Or, you could create export presets for different ppi values. But again - for screen viewing, ppi is irrelevant and meaningless, it only comes into play when printing. If the pixel dimensions are the same, the image will display identically - whether the ppi is set to 1 or 1000.

Don't use Export, it's an unfinished feature that will strip out the color profile, causing images to appear over saturated. And it probably defaults to 96 ppi, I don't think you can change that. PPI is metadata that is used by printer drivers to calculate print size, and it has no effect on screen viewing. Pixel dimensions are all that matters. If you want to export several images at once, take a look at the image processor, located under File > Scripts. I never use it, (I do things like this in Lightroom), but I think you can select images in Bridge and run it from there.

I've been hesitant to post in this thread, because I know absolutely nothing about programming or the Windows Presentation Foundation. But if this is for screen viewing, the ppi shouldn't matter - ppi is metadata used by printer drivers to calculate print size. For screen viewing, pixel dimensions are all that matter, so what happens if you use slightly different pixel dimensions?

The easiest way to do this would be to add the caption as metadata. To do this, go to File > File info, and enter the information in the Description field under the Basic tab. The editor would of course need to view the image in an application that can read the metadata - it would be easily available in for instance Bridge or ACDSee, and he could of course view it in Photoshop as well.

It doesn't only happen with links, a post of mine containing a file path was being moderated ..
lightroom doesn't start up on windows 10
It now turns out that anything I post in that thread is moderated, even plain text without links or urls. It doesn't happen when I post in other threads.

If your standalone CS6 has become part of CC, you must have installed it using the CC desktop app. If you want to use the standalone instead, use the CC desktop app to uninstall CS6, then install the standalone version and enter your serial number. You can download CS6 from here if needed: Download Creative Suite 6 applications

only 2 installs of ANY Adobe product irrespective of the version number, is that correct? No, thats not correct. CS3, CS4 and CS5 are not available with Creative Cloud. CS6 has been available as standalone (perpetual license) and is also avilable with a CC subscription. But I get the impression that the three installs in question here are Creative Cloud based, in which case one of them will always have to be deactivated. The same principle applies to CS3 and CS4, but since they are standalone applications, they are licenced differently, and work independently of the CC subscription. If you have a licence for CS3 or CS4 (or a perpetual license for CS6), you can install these on the third computer without any need to deactive the CC subscription on the two other computers.

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but you said that CC 2015 is installed on your wife's computer. If it was installed under the same CC subscription that you used to install CS6 on your own two two computers, then that's three installs, and only two can be activated at the same time. The fact that your wife didn't install CS6 is irrelevant, it's the CC subscription as a whole that has to be deactivated - you can't deactivate individual applications. At least that's the way I understand it.

It seems that you have three copies installed - on your desktop and laptop and your wife's desktop. Although you can install on as many computers as you like, only two can be activated at any one time. It makes no difference if only CC 2015 is installed on your wife's computer - AFAIK, with CC it's the whole subscription that becomes deactivated.

You are allowed two activations, so there shouldn't be any need to deactivate on the desktop. But it does work the way you described - signing out deactivates everything that is part of the CC subscription. If you have happen to have a pereptual license for CS6, you should be able to deactivate just that, but there is no need to do that - pereptual licenses also allow two activations.

The article you linked to is, as far as I can tell, inaccurate and misleading. chuckcars - I suggest that you look here instead: Photoshop Help | Image essentials I have no experience with 32-bit, but it's used for HDR images in PS.Don't think it is intended for general use. (and file sizes are enormous) Are you working with an HDR image, or did you convert an 8-bit or 16-bit image to 32-bit?

I have a 364 page book with 322 illustrations, mainly photographs, for offset printing. The photographs will be overprinted with varnish on a fifth plate, and I set this up as follows: On a new layer, (duplicate of Layer 1) all the photos are deleted, but not their frames. The frames are then filled with 100% black. All text frames and page numbers will also have to be deleted. I realise I could have made this job easier if I had placed all images on their own layer to begin with, but unfortunately I didn't. And I don't do scripting myself, so I was wondering if someone has a script that will do this ... Using CC 2015.1 on Windows 7.

No it's not. I guess Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F is a default shortcut for something I never use, which is why I chose it for Flatten. This probably happened when I bought the first version of PS that allowed you to create you own shortcuts. (whenever that was) But thanks for the offer!

I have been using Ctrl+Alt+Shift+F for years, not sure whether it is a default shortcut, or if I assigned it. You can create your own shortcut sets - Edit > Keyboard shortcuts.

No, not seeing green little men, but something quite useful ... so thanks! It turns out that the Discussions view will bold the title of threads I have previously visited, when they have received new posts since my last visit. I thought this was beyond the capabilities of these forums, but it's probably a feature I have missed out on, or a happy accident caused by the combination of my custom CSS and the Jive code (not so likely).

Some scanning programs (like Epson Scan) have a Descreen option, which is designed to remove these patterns. But the way I understand your post, these are photos (prints?) of newspapers, so I'm not sure how well it would work. The best thing would obviously be to scan the newspaper itself, if you have access to it.

I did some tests turning the graphics processor on and off, and diagonal lines do become jagged at certain magnifications when it is turned off. So my guess is that this is what's causing the problem. It appears that you cannot work with it turned on, but I wouldn't worry too much about it, since it doesn't really affect the image, only how you see it in PS.
