You would have to pay an awful lot more for software without bugs Nobody is expecting bug free software and certainly not me as a former developer. What is expected from a company like Adobe is 1) proper regression testing before releasing a new version and development methodology allowing to eliminate the most obvious bugs before they hit the users. I'm very seriously considering ditching Lr for Capture 1 to gain the image quality I can't get from Adobe I would say, refrain from doing this. I purchased a C1 license to handle my X-Trans file. C1 also has a lot of problems and an awkward user interface that should be re-designed. Moreover, updates are becoming extremely expensive. John, I get this bug all the time on my PC, and it is annoying, but it's nowhere near as catastrophic as some of the more hysterical posts make it appear. No, it's not a big deal (once you know the workaround). What seems more important to me is the fact that such a bug can make it to a public release. Any user calling PS from LR can observe it immediately after updating. Adobe has accustomed us since many years now to such bugs that are immediately noticeable and easy to reproduce. This should simply not happen. We are not talking about bugs that are hard to detect or that are related to unusual configurations. This obviously indicates flawed (I would rather say non-existent) testing procedures. That's the actual problem that should be fixed. By the way, please note that I still have these COMRuntime errors mentioned above whenever I launch Acrobat Reader. I'm a former developer and DCOM specialist, so I tried to fix the permission errors manually with DCOMCnfg but as the message says : The application set this security permission programmatically; to modify this security permission contact the application vendor. So whatever I can modify is reset by the program itself. These errors apparently don't prevent Acrobat Reader from functioning correctly but I'm wondering why they appear in the first place. ... After installing the Foxit reader, I manually cleaned up the registry and deleted all the items related to Acrobat Reader because there were many leftovers there after the de-installation of Acrobat Reader. OK. I now understand what "hidden files" means in Bridge. I'll put this another way : how do I add a given extension (type) to the list of files that should be hidden in Bridge ? I looked at the Preferences and in the registry. Could not find anything to update. Currently, even when Show hidden files is disabled, XML, DOP and other file types are shown. I agree but on my system, I'm unable to run PS and Bridge another way (running Windows 10 1803 but it was also the case with previous versions). I have to run them as an administrator (not in any compatibility mode). This problem is lasting since years. Applying the various suggestions found in this forum, on the Adobe site  and elsewhere for fixing permissions never helped.
