Hi Christopher. That is what is suppposed to happen when you set it to Transparent - it shows only the Vegas effect. Set it to "over" and your logo should remain with the Vegas effect on top of it. If that isn't the answer then you need to give more details about what you are doing and trying to achieve.

Hi Becky, sorry I can't use your .aep (I'm on an old version), however I suspect your problem may be that your text is sitting in the same Z space as your page. If so, move your text 1 or 2 pixels in Z space so they don't interact.

Hi, put another layer of your person on top of your polaroids and mask out the part of them that stays in front when something goes behind - that's the basic principle.

Hi. You appear to be zoomed in on the timeline. Look at the bottom of your screen and you should see a slider with mountain like triangles at either end, drag the slider towards the smaller mountains.

Hi. With no layer(s) selected, select the pen tool and click on where you want the line to start - don't drag - then click on where you want the line to end. That should do it.

Hi. You have masked out a part of an image (not created a Shape Layer so there are no Fill settings) this means the black areas are 'cut out' and actually transparent - put a coloured solid on the layer underneath and you will see what I mean. I would highly recommend that you do some basics tutorials. AE is a complicated program and without the basics you are likely to drive yourself crazy.

Hi. How have you made the shape? If it's a shape layer select it and at the top of the screen you will see the Fill settings, press on the word Fill and in the dropdown that appears you cant set it to alpha (transparent).

Hi. I'm not aware of any way of making a preset however you can make a new project with a Custom composition (ie 2350 x 1000) and save this - then import it into any new project.

Hi. Precompose the shape/masked solid then add the effect in your main comp. Your issue is related to the order in which AE processes the image - look up Render Order for further information.

Hi, I didn't realise that it was a rectangle shape layer. Go back to using a shape layer. Move your anchor point to the left edge then, unlink the scale proportions in Transform Rectangle 1 dropdown and change the first (X) number. Leave the Layer's Transform scale at 100. Is that not working? The other method should also be working?

Hi. Move your anchor point to the left edge of your shape (it's the cross hair shape in the centre). There is a tool at the top called the Pan Behind Tool which does it (shortcut Y). Put the cursor over the anchor point, left click and drag to the left edge. Look up tutorials on changing the anchor point as it is a very useful (and basic) thing to know and understand. Proportional scaling is accessed in the layers dropdown Scale setting - click on the little chain icon to turn it on or off.

Hi. If you use Hold keyframes the mask will jump when it reaches a new keyframe (select the keyframe, right click, Toggle Hold Keyframe). If that is too abrupt, copy the first position keyframe to the spot where you want it to start moving.

Hi. Have you tried doing a "character reset"? Next to 'Character" on the character panel there is a drop down with a little row of lines. Open it and character reset is at the bottom.
