You can export to an older AI format, you can also try exporting from Fireworks to 'FXG and images' format and then try importing the FXG into Illustrator ... It all depends on what version of Illustrator you are using .... If you can get download a copy Illustrator CS6 that offers the best interoperability between Fireworks. You can even copy and paste vectors between Fireworks CS6 and Illustrator CS6.

This is for all the people that have an active Full or or Student/Teacher Creative Cloud subscription. There has been an ongoing issue with Fireworks asking for a serial and running in trial mode, despite the user having a legitimate Creative Cloud subscription. It looks like Adobe have fixed this issue recently although there has been no official announcement (to my knowledge). Before doing the following reverse any workarounds you already have set up/tried, for example remove the 'run this program as an administrator' setting on PDapp.exe if you have previously done that. 1) Make sure Fireworks is closed 2) Check the Creative Cloud app is up to date from the top menu => help => check for updates 3) Sign out of the Creative Cloud app => click your profile icon (top right) => sign out 4) Close the Creative Cloud app => from the top menu => file => exit 5) Launch Fireworks and click the 'license this software' button 6) You should be prompted to sign in, enter the email/password of your Adobe account (with a valid Creative Cloud subscription). Hopefully you should be back in business with Fireworks ... It still rocks, even years after Adobe abandoned it 🤟

It's a very good focal point for project management especially if you and/or your team use GIT. In all other aspects I'd say it hasn't really moved on much at all since Adobe bought Macromedia, most of the updates and changes have either created new problems, performance issues or brought nothing new to the table.... So for coders or people looking for more of design view focused tool there are better tools out there... For non-coders looking for a design focused approach you'll need to invest in Dreamweaver extensions, P7 are the most famous developer of such extensions For extensions to aid in modern server side coding (because Adobe didn't update the server behaviors, then ironically cited 'out of date' as a reason to remove them). They also killed off the very useful Developer Toolbox extension). You need to look at WebAssist or DMXZone extensions,

No, just sign out of the creative cloud app then exit it. Launch Fireworks click the 'license this software' button signin with Adobe login and you should be good to go. If it doesn't work make sure you ave the version fo the creative cloud app

The only problem I've observed with GIT in Dreamweaver is if you have a large number of staged files, Dreamweaver starts to become very slow and does some glitchy things .... Try doing a commit + push and see if that helps ...

Affinity is missing some basic features and the main gripe with their customers is the lack of transparency and a roadmap, Designer/Photo don't even have a basic non destructive perspective tool (Designer doesn't have o the tool at all and the one in Photo isn't a proper non destructive tool), they don't have a propert export preview either, they have an experimental version which is not really there yet) ... I could go on with more missing essentials, People have been asking for some of the missing basic features for years and if you look on their forum you'll see there is no repsonse from people at Affinity. So while they'll software is very good value when you consider the price (and they seem to have a 50% off offer on quite often) there are still some core features missing that Fireworks users will find fustrating..
